It was a disappointing result for Spurs
Ladies on their trip to Gravesend, but the performance was gutsy amid
the harsh elements which affected the team's normal passing game.
However, Spurs had a lion's share of possession in the first half with Rosi Webb and Kelly Herrett controlling the midfield. Just ten minutes before half time interval, whilst having all the possession and most of the chances we had a lack of concentration, which allowed the opposition to score the goal which would eventually see us defeated. Spurs gave everything to get an equaliser in order to get something out of the game. After playing so well we were unable to win due to lack of composure when chances came our way. The remaining time seemed to go on forever, with the opposition wasting a lot of time, which led to the referee adding time on. But for all our efforts, it was not to be, but on evidence of our performance it wont be long before we pick ourselves back up that league. DARREN JOHNSON |

It was definitely a game of two halves, as
Spurs Ladies lost away to Long Lane. The Tottenham team started the game very sloppy and somehow found themselves 0-1 down within the first ten minutes of the game. They then got back into it mid-way through the first half, when Lucy Auguste curled a free-kick into the top corner thus making it 1-1. Then Spurs seem to have all the momentum and forced a corner kick which resulted in Rosi Webb volleying the ball home from close range to make it 2-1 to Spurs. Spurs went in ahead at the interval and
then somehow came out the second half looking like a different team.
In terms of the level of concentration and performance had regressed
into them not playing their normal passing game, which ultimately led to
the other team creating lots of chances and forcing us play on the back
foot. DARREN JOHNSON |

Spurs had to make a determined comeback on
two occasions in this match, but just left it too late to pull
something out of the bag to grab a point against Gravesend and
Northfleet at Fred Knights. A
missed penalty by Rosi Webb in the first half shortly was a missed
opportunity to draw things level after Gravesend had scored early on to
see Tottenham go The Ladies came out in the second half playing attractive, attacking football which led to Ebony heath scoring their first goal on 55 minutes, which made it 2-1, but the visitors scored from a long range effort to re-establish their two goal cushion. Lucy Auguste then scored with a trademark spectacular 20 yard shot to make it 3 - 2 with ten minutes left that left the visitors hanging on for their three points as Spurs pressed for an equaliser at the end, in vain as it turned out. Spurs Ladies were held to 1-1 draw at home
by Woking, when once again they played the better football, but could
not put their chances away.
Tottenham took the lead following some attractive attacking football
which saw Ebony Heath delightfully chip the goalkeeper in the first
half. The goal was as The good football continued and THLFC created numerous chances with Shadine Mars, Rosi Webb, Ebony and Jade Perrin all going close with some good efforts on goal. With a bit more clinical finishing we could have killed the game off and the score-line should have been at least 4-0 to Spurs, but as we started to tire in last ten minutes of the match, we started to lose our shape. This allowed Woking to have a speculative 30 yard shot that beat Lacey Amato to give them the point that they were happy to go home with. The look on some of the Spurs players
faces said it all, because after controlling the game for so long, it
was disappointing to concede a goal so late on when it looked as though
we were heading for clean sheet. This young side will learn
from this in terms of protecting the lead and killing games off when we
create so many chances. All said and done, well done girls ... it
was a very entertaining game to watch and to manage, which featured some
brilliant combination play all over the pitch. DARREN JOHNSON |

Spurs Ladies were away to Woking in what was a very scrappy game, to say the least, that the home side won by a single goal. Tottenham had the better of the chances in the first half, but just like in previous games failed to convert then, which saw us go in at the break 0-0. The second half was slightly better in terms of some players trying to get the ball down and attempt to play some form of football, instead of treating the ball like a hot potato. Rosi Webb came off with a slight hamstring pull, which seemed to change the out look of the game in terms of the balance in midfield. It then got even worse for us when Shadine Mars went in for a 50/50 challenge and although she won the ball, she came off worse landing badly on her wrist which we later found out that she had broken. When it looked like it could get no worse for THLFC, Woking hit a long ball over our defence which left our goalkeeper exposed with a one on one. The Woking player went on to score to make it 1-0 with only a few minutes left on the clock. The most frustrating thing for me as manager of the club is that half the girls are not putting in the effort required, which makes it twice as hard for the girls who give 100% week in week out in terms of transferring the the things we work on in training and energy levels during games. Spurs Ladies went 2-1 down to the League Champions in the first of what was a two game thriller, with halfs of 30 minute duration. Lucy Auguste came on late in the second half to pull one goal back with one of her trade-mark rocket free-kicks. The second game of the double header saw the team that finished the first game start the second. Spurs started the game very positively, controlling the first half and having the better of the chances and went into the break at 0-0 just like the previous game. Strangely enough, Spurs looked the most likely team to win with the likes of Lucy and Claire Singh coming close with some long range efforts hitting the post and cross bar, but somehow we were caught out with a lack of concentration and was hit by a sucker punch to end up losing 0-1.
It was not our day, but, in terms of effort,
the players had given everything. I am very proud of them only
losing by the odd goal to a team who seem to be very experienced side
who have swept all before them this season. Well done girls. DARREN JOHNSON |

The last game of the season ending in scrappy match which will be remembered for the wrong reasons. Spurs were 3-0 down within 15 minutes of the kick-off with a combination of goalkeeping errors and ref decisions. However, Tottenham managed to win a penalty which Mel Berry coolly converted to make it 3-1 at the break. The second half started just like the first half with the girls not taking heed of what had gone before. We somehow conceded another two goals straight after the kick off to make it 1-5. Mid-way through the half, we lost Carly Snell with a knee injury. Then we shortly lost our goalkeeper in what looked like a very bad challenge outside the box and the team were now down to nine players, which seemed to galvanise us. We were a match for London Women all the way until the end, which seemed very strange to say the least. DARREN JOHNSON |
