A convincing win over fellow Premier
Division side Dulwich Hamlet gave Tottenham Hotspur Ladies the League
Cup for the first time in their history.
Centre half Lisa Amasanti kick-started
the trophy win with a headed goal in six minutes from Lorraine Knight's
left-wing corner. In the 13th minute, Hannah Rushforth saw her
shot saved by the Hamlet keeper, but was alert to the rebound and
smashed it home to make it 2-0 to Tottenham.
Dulwich went further behind just two
minutes later, when a defender knocked the ball into her own net, but
the South London side recovered to get a goal back just before the
half-time whistle.
The second half was a much tighter affair
and there was no further score, allowing Captain Jackie Wright to lift
the League Cup trophy at the end of the game.
