Bouncing back from the
midweek cup defeat, Spurs Ladies ran out 3-0 winners over a determined
MK Dons team at Fred Knights on Sunday.
The strong defence and hard
working midfield restricted the team from Milton Keynes to few chances
and Ebony Cabey-Gooden was only brought into action on a couple of
occasions.
At the other end, Vanessa
Storey, on as a replacement for ankle injury victim Jenna Schillaci, put
Tottenham ahead with a tap-in after Sam Pituck had robbed a defender of
the ball and slipped the ball across the six yard box to set up an easy
opportunity.
Into the second half,
Storey had another goal ruled out for offside, before Pituck rolled home
a penalty awarded for a handball in the box. With Spurs now controlling
the tempo, a fine cross by winger Emma Kayser was headed home at the far
post by Storey to hand Spurs three points that sees them unbeaten in the
league since mid-October. |
