As you may or may not know in August
2007 I was diagnosed with Follicular
Lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic
system) and since then I have under
gone intense
chemotherapy treatment which
finished in February 2008. I
am now in remission, but because my
particular cancer is a slow growing one
and does not have a recognised cure,
I have been told it will resurface
sometime in the future. With this
in mind I have decided to live life as
much as I can, but always looking over
my shoulder for it's return.
MY CHALLENGE
What I
am planning to do is walk the great wall
of china for the Macmillan cancer
support charity in April 2010. this is a
very tough but organised challenge by
Macmillan, trekking about 300 miles over
very rough and rural terrain in about
nine days camping by the side of the
wall each night. I need to raise as much
as possible to carry out this huge
event.
My wife
will be joining me on this adventure and
we have set ourselves a target of
£8,000.
As
my friends and club colleagues I am
asking you to help me reach our target
and support Macmillan cancer by login on
to the following website and donating by
credit / debit card as much as you can
or alternatively you can see me in
person and complete my
sponsorship form.
http://www.justgiving.com/dave-jayneshephardmacmillanchinawalk2010/
Just
remember in the UK one in three people
will be diagnosed with cancer during
there lifetime and over two million
people are currently living with cancer
in the UK. Macmillan is a UK charity
providing the expert care and practical
and emotional support which is changing
the lives of people living with cancer
today. The money raised will be used to
fund specialist nurses and doctors who
deliver the best in cancer care, build
vitally needed cancer care centres and
give financial help to those who need it
most.
EVERYBODY KNOWS SOMEONE WHO
HAS HAD, OR IS LIVING WITH CANCER, THIS
CHALLENGE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT
THEY ARE GOING THROUGH, SO HELP MAKE A
DIFFERENCE AND SPONSOR MACMILLAN CANCER
SUPPORT THROUGH ME TO HELP THESE PEOPLE
TODAY.
Thank you for your
support

donation to me personally by
