This year's presentation night
took
place at White's, Paxton Road, Tottenham on
Saturday 14th June 2003.
The evening began with Chairman Glenn
Weaver making a speech about the last year at the club. The
progress the club had made on and off the pitch was detailed, including
the success of the Under-15s in winning the Herts. Girls Football League
Cup and the sponsorship deal gained off the field to support training of
coaches and securing facilities for training to take place.
Club
Manager Pete Skinner echoed the strides the club had made including
bringing all the teams together to train in one place and also to get
the parent club to provide kits for all the Ladies teams.
Both
thanked the clubs sponsors - Damage Control plc and the Spurs players -
as well as the assistance that Tottenham Hotspur FC had provided
throughout the season, culminating in the match against Chelsea on the
pitch at White Hart Lane at the end of the season. Their was also
praise for all the coaches, managers, staff and parents, who had given
of their time to help make the club what it had become.
The
important part of the evening was the awards given to recognise those
who had represented the club this season.
The
first award of the evening had already been presented as the recipient
could not be with us on the night. The Sue Sharples Memorial award
is one that means a lot to the club, being made in honour of Sue
Sharples, the co-founder of the club, who died while training. The
award is given to the person or persons who have made the greatest
contribution to the success of the club, be it on or off the field.
For the 2002-2003 season,
it had gone to TEDDY SHERINGHAM for his support of the Ladies team and

For
the First Team, the season ended in disappointment. In with a
chance of winning the League until the final few games, there was no
consolation of a Cup run with no League Cup to be contested this
season. However, they showed there was enough promise there to
challenge again next season and with many younger players vying for
places in the team, this would help keep players on their toes to keep
their place in the first XI.

The
evening was very well attended and the turn-out reflected the support
and interest in the club at the moment.
The club would like to
thank everyone who has assisted in any way this season to making it a
very successful one. The contribution of all involved with the
club makes it that much stronger and helps make things run smoothly.
Special thanks must go to
June Clarke, Kay Lovelock, Pete Skinner and Glenn Weaver for putting in
so much time and effort to make the event such a success, especially
with having to find a new venue at a week's notice.
We trust that everybody
had a great time and that the next one will be every bit as good as this
year's.
