| Presentation Night 2004-05 |
On Saturday 2nd July 2005, Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC staged their presentation night at White's, Paxton Road, Tottenham. THLFC were pleased to welcome their Guest of Honour for the evening - Tottenham Hotspur's freestyle football skills expert BILLY WINGROVE. As the lights dimmed and the presentation began, the new style show leapt into life. A film style intro saw the teams introduced on screen and the other people who made the club function this season all given their credit. As the music soared, Chairman Glenn Weaver welcomed the guests, players, families, friends and officials of the club to this season's celebration of the 2004-05 season. After going through the achievements the club had made this season, it was onto the video clips of manager's talking through their team's campaigns and spelling out what they expected from the coming season. With the video footage behind them, the manager's took to the stage to announce their team's awards. |
| The
free-scoring Under-10 side showed an outstanding ability to pass the
ball and to make most of the teams in their league look ordinary, which
was no mean feat. Having scored 127 goals for and conceded only
four in the league, manager Gerry McLucas paid tribute to the the
fluency that the side had showed having only come together at the start
of this season and that there was only a squad of ten players who took
part in matches this campaign. Their football was mature beyond
their years and they have set themselves a high standard for the future.

| For
the Under-11s side, it had been a season that was being used to prepare
for the rigours of the move up to 11-a-side in season 2004-05 and one that
showed that despite the regular changes to the team, they could still
play some scintillating football.
Having reached
the London Youth FA Cup final, the girls showed exactly how they can
play and ran out 4-0 winners over Moonshot Juniors at the Mile End
Stadium. The disappointment came in the League Cup Semi-Final
where Jayne Foster's side lost out narrowly on penalties to their old
rivals Luton Town.

| For
the Under-12s side, it a difficult transition to 11-a-side
football, losing three of their first eight league matches before going
on an unbeaten league run from November until the end of the season
lasting 11 matches plus they progressed to the League Cup final, where
they lost out 2-3 to Cambridge City.
In between, the girls also reached the final of the London Youth FA Cup, where they lost 1-3 to Long Lane, but overall, the learning gained from this season's games will stand the team in good stead for the next season. The players who

| With
a London Youth FA Cup victory over Leyton Orient by 3-2, the girls
captured silverware in the competition for the club for the first
time. It was just reward for a fine season of good football and
determined effort and it only failed to be added to when Luton Town
Belles narrowly took the League Cup Final 3-2 (after extra
time).
The Under-13s have a team that has progressed over the years and over this season with the future looking bright for them, as their fifteen match unbeaten run during the season showed. Those who regularly turned out for the

| The
Under-15s had a roller-coaster season with a good opening run and then
injuries hit the side, leading to some under-strength sides being
fielded. However, the girls always tried to play football and were
high-scoring in many of their matches. Even though the team
suffered these problems, they hung together to finish in fourth position
in their league having only lost four matches in the league all season.

| Having been
hit by injuries and illness, the lack of a settled side affected the
overall performance of the team, but their determination to play to
their potential resulted in them finishing a creditable fifth position
in their league. June Clarke was proud of her players who always
gave their best and coach John Boyaram for his support throughout the
season.

2004-05 season was a difficult season for Jackie Fearon's first in
charge of the First Team, having been deprived of a number of senior
players who left during the previous summer.
The team progressed to the League Cup Semi-Final, but struggled to find consistency in the League, but the younger players who were called upon to represent Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC gave their all in every game and achieved the necessary placing to be promoted to the new Greater London and South East Regional League - Premier Division for the 2005-06 season.

| The Sue Sharples Memorial award
is one that is given to someone who has made an outstanding contribution
to the club. Named after the co-founder of the club Sue
Sharples, who died while training, it has a special significance tot he
club.
For the 2004-2005 season, it had gone to KAPPA UK for their provision of match kit for all the teams at the club, a donation that allows the money that would have been spent on kit to go towards training and other costs. Glenn Weaver announced that Kappa were unable to attend the evening, but their award was collected on their behalf by Lily-Anna Tyrimos, who has the safest hands at the club, having let in only four league goals all season. |

| The Most Improved Senior Player of the Year received The Lucy Pinnock Award (named after the promising young Spurs Ladies player, who tragically died in a motorcycling accident) and this season the person selected to collect this award was MARY GRIFFITHS. |
| Following
the formal part of the proceedings, Billy Wingrove put on a
demonstration of his ball skills. His ability is unprecedented and
the audience were amazed by his skills as he kept the ball moving while
he was on the floor, in the air and he made the ball do exactly what he
wanted.
It was a breath-taking display of skill that left the girls gasping and I am sure that some of them would have been keen to show Billy exactly what they are capable of. However, the disco allowed the ladies to show some of their fancy footwork on the dance floor, as the danced the night away. |

Once more, an attendance of over 300 people, the awards evening showed that the club has great support. THLFC is a club which is growing ever bigger and there are people who are willing to put in whatever they can to make things a success. With three more pieces of silverware obtained this season and three more League Cup finals reached without success, it shows that there is movement in the right direction. The coming season will see the First Team enter a new league and make strides to get THLFC moving up the pyramid of women's football. Special thanks must go to David Watson and Paul Newby for coming up with the presentation plans and for the Under-10 parents who put so much time and effort into providing the excellent spread of food for the event. The night was a real step forward in terms of presentation and thanks must go to Alex Woods & Simon Coomes of Sound Bites Disco, who put on the show with the excellent show and music and to Stage Two - the company who set up the staging/screen. |
