Under-10
Blues
It was a
tough task for this season's Under-10s to match the achievement of last
season's side, but the Blues rose to the challenge and took a clean sweep
of trophies in their age group winning every competitive match they played
this season. At times, their football was breath-taking and they
have rightly earned a reputation as a team to be feared as the team won the
League Division 1 Championship of the Herts. Girls Football League, the
League Cup and the Chairman's Cup in
2005-06.

Under-10
Whites
The Under-10s Whites were another new side to the club this season and
reached the final of the Chairman's Cup before succumbing to the Blues and
won a place in the Herts. Girls Football League
Under-10 Division 1, in which they finished fourth.
Coming together for this
season, the team showed great progress over the course of the season and
had a great willingness to learn. Full of energy and desire to play
the game, the development of the girls as a unit was evident by the end of
the campaign and they scored half of the goals conceded by the Blues this
season.

Under-11s
Following a successful season can always
be a tricky proposition, but the Under-11s managed it in 2005-06.
Champions from the previous season and runner-sup in the league Cup
final, Gerry McLucas' team showed a consistent level of performance
throughout the campaign to show they are a unit that are both good to
watch and stingy at the back.
Having added Tori Tripp and Tianna
Carrington to the squad, the nucleus already being in place from the
previous season, there was a resolve about the girl's performance from
the early stages and with a defence that only conceded four league goals
all season, the Under-11s were the proud Champions of the Herts. Girls League
2005-06 and winners of the League Cup, with a thrilling extra time win
over Enfield Town.

Under-12s
It was a season of progress
for the Under-12s with one Cup, another semi-final and finishing joint
runners-up in the league.
With the demon of Luton
Town Belles laid to rest with two draws against them, the only
disappointment was that the second draw handed the league title to QPR
and left the two teams tied for second place in the table. There
was an eight game run without defeat until QPR beat our side, then
another of 11 games to the end of the season gave them the same
win-lose-draw record as Luton.
Things went better in the
cups, with the London Youth FA being retained with a 2-0 win over London
Girls and then reaching the semi-final of the HGFL Cup before losing out
to QPR (again).
With the new additions to
the squad settling in nicely, the team will hope to go one better next
season.
The players who
represented the
Under-12 side in the 2005-06 season were : -

Under-13 Blues
The Under-13s have come together as a team
for the first time this season and showed that they had developed over this season
and formed a useful unit towards the end of the season. Reaching
two Cup semi-finals was a fine achievement in their first season.
There were always a lot of goals in their
games, with big wins and some big defeats, but the girls kept playing
and learned to play as a team. The fact that they were the only
team to take a league point off Princes Park all season showed that one
their day they are capable of giving the better sides a game and there
is a lot for John Goodman to work with in the Blues second season
together.

Under-13 Whites
The Under-13 Whites had a
good season, but finished empty handed despite only losing two league
matches and two cup games.
In the league a number of
drawn games ensured that the team finished in third place in their
league table and they reached the semi-final stage of the London FA
Youth Cup and the final of the HGFL League Cup, only to lose out to QPR.
There has been a lot to
be pleased about in the performances this season, but turning those draws
into wins will be a priority for the side in the coming season.

Under-14s
The
Under-14s had a tough campaign with a number of players leaving to
attend Centres of Excellence, which meant they were unable to play for
THLFC as well. This left a bare minimum in the squad and the early
games showed the determination of the girls to battle against the odds.
As the squad filled out, the real
quality of the girls came out, as they put together a good run of
results in the league to show they could match the top sides and also in
the HGFL Plate, which they went on to win with a convincing 5-0 win over
Princes Park in the Final and without conceding a goal in their three
games in the competition.
This leaves the team in good shape for
the 2005-06 season.

Reserves
A third place position in
the league table and a semi-final in the League Cup
added up to a very satisfactory season for the Reserve team.
With some fine performances,
especially against teams from higher leagues and fighting back from a
losing position, the side reached the League Cup semi-final with
a spirit that took them through some tight matches.
In the league, a
consistency
developed and only three games were lost in the campaign, with four
draws, which were the difference between finishing third and pushing
hard for the runners-up place.
June Clarke was proud of the
way the ladies have performed this season, especially with so many young
players coming up from last year's Under-15 side.

First
Team
A new league for the First
Team - the London and South-East Regional Football League - set a new
test, not only for the teams they would play, but the travelling to some
far flung destinations for the first time.
The 2005-06 season was another difficult one,
with a young squad facing many older, more experienced and more physical
sides. However, after a shaky start, the side
settled down to a long run of draws,
which proved sufficient to keep them in the Premier Division for another
season.
With Darren Johnson in
charge of the side, the ladies will be looking to progress and surge
forward in the division next season now they have a year's experience
behind them and know what lies ahead.

The
SUE SHARPLES MEMORIAL award
is one that is given to someone who has made an outstanding contribution
to the club. Named after the co-founder of the club Sue
Sharples, who died while training, it has a special significance tot he
club.
This
season, the award was presented by former Club Secretary and joint Club
Founder with Sue, Kay Lovelock.
Having been diagnosed with breast cancer, her season was disrupted, but
her desire to get back into action saw Gill Blackmore return to playing
before the end of the season and she was back supporting the team from the
touchlines well before that. Her dedication to the club is
exemplified by her willingness to play for whichever team and in whichever
position she is required to. Gill has helped with coaching the
Under-15s in the previous season and has been a figure who many of the
club's players look up to (although not literally !!). Her service
to the club over the years is outstanding and her commitment
unquestionable and Gill was a popular winner of this award.
The winner of the Sue Sharples Memorial award
was GILL BLACKMORE
The
LUCY PINNOCK Award (named after the promising young Spurs Ladies
player, who tragically died in a motorcycling accident at Christmas 2000)
was awarded to a person(s) who have made a significant contribution to the
club off the field. For the season 2005-06, the trophy was given to
LIZ MIGHALL
and IVOR
CHAPMAN
for their work on Press and publicity and the club website.
This season, Spurs Ladies
had seven pieces of silverware to show off and there was a record attendance
of
over 350 people shows the growth and commitment to making THLFC one of
the best women's football clubs in the country. The play and
efforts of club members on and off the pitch have made this a season of
success from the Under-10s winning the treble through to the first team
retaining their place in the Premier Division of the new London and
South-East league.
Well done to everyone
