Dagenham & Redbridge
Ladies v Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
Second Qualifying Round - Women's FA Cup.
Sunday 29th September 2002 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Victoria Road, Dagenham (click here
for a map)
First team manager Pete
Skinner takes a look at this Sunday's FA Cup tie in Essex against
an old foe ...
Following a tough 1st
qualifying round against top South East Counties side Redhill, Spurs
again see Lady Luck desert them, as they draw Dagenham and
Redbridge in the Women's F.A. Cup 2nd qualifying round.
This is a tough fixture,
with the Daggers being one of our closest London Premier rivals in
recent years. However, it should be an exciting prospect, as
women's football grows ever more popular and the Dagenham and
Redbridge main club have made their Victoria Road stadium
available for the fixture. Entrance is by programme, which will
cost £1. If you are at a loose end or in the area on Sunday,
why not come along and get behind the Spurs Ladies, who would
appreciate your backing.
This is another major
step forward for women's football and the Spurs Ladies hope to
add to the success of the day by playing the attractive football that
is becoming our trademark.
The Ladies team should
welcome back striker Zoella Freeman, who was unavailable at the
weekend following a minor eye operation and winger Sam Farnum should
rejoin the action. This will give a full squad to select from
with only Samrawit Bereket doubtful after twisting her ankle at Redbridge
last Sunday.
Probable squad :
Tina Hills, Lorraine
Sparrow, Kelly Herrett, Katie Jackson, Handan Djoshkoun, Ruth Yonatan,
Gill Blackmore, Jackie Fearon, Stephanie Lappen, Zoella Freeman, Lucy
Auguste, Jenny Curtis, Claire Bloomfield, Chrissy Oshodi, Samantha
Farnum.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Colney Heath Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 13th October 2002 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
After three weeks on the
road, manager Pete
Skinner can look forward to a home game ...
This week sees us
tackle another old foe in Colney Heath.
After a double
defeat against Colney last year and after last weeks dismal
performance at Dagenham the girls have a lot to play for.
To be fair we have
been dogged by injuries and the unexpected loss of captain ,
Jackie Fearon left us with a severely depleted and an
extremely young line up to do battle with an experienced and
physical Daggers side.
Hopefully we should
see Jackie return this week along with a few more experienced
hands which should see us in a position to tackle a traditionally
strong Colney Heath side.
The girls know that
we have been conceding too many soft goals this season and we have
worked hard on the training pitch to identify our weak areas and improve
on them.
Lets hope that this
weekend sees us pick up on the early season form which
was so promising and find that creative flair that has
been missing of late.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Lorraine
Sparrow, Kelly Herrett, Kerry Daniells, Lucy Palmer, Jackie Fearon,
Gill Blackmore, Steph Lappen, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Handan Djoshkoun,
Samrawit Bereket, Sam Farnum, Ruth Waghorn.
London Women v Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 27th October 2002 - Kick Off
11.00
Venue : Southwood Road, SE9 (click here
for a map)
A first league win last
week gives the Ladies a bit more confidence going into their trip to
South London ...
Sunday sees us on
our travels once again, this time south of the river to meet
London Women.
The mood in
the Ladies camp is buoyant after
finding our form against Colney Heath and the return of more of
the regular squad from injury including the return of long term
injured Chrissy Oshodi who should give us that extra option in
midfield.
Chrissy was back
in training this week looking like she had never been out and is
raring to get back into action on Sunday.
London Women are
another tough opponent in a league where there are no easy games
and all matches are fiercely contested and the Ladies look
forward to another entertaining and competitive morning.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Lorraine
Sparrow, Kelly Herrett, Kerry Daniells, Lucy Palmer, Samantha Farnum, Jackie Fearon,
Gill Blackmore, Steph Lappen, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Handan Djoshkoun,
Kim McGhee, Chrissy Oshodi, Selina Brigette, Latoyah Johnson.
Leyton Orient Ladies v Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 3rd November 2002 - Kick Off
14.00
Venue : Peter May Sports Ground, Wadham Road, Walthamstow E17
4HR - next to the London Hospital Sports Ground (click

Another big win for the Ladies,
this time against London Women, and suddenly things look a bit
different ahead of another local derby ...
This Sunday sees
the Ladies travel the short trip to Walthamstow to face local
rivals Leyton Orient.
This will be
our toughest test so far this season with the O's undefeated
in the League and already having defeated the Spurs Ladies in
our opening league fixture this season.
Although the
first encounter went Orient's way, Spurs will take heart that
it was a far from convincing performance with our
devastating early injuries and Leyton relying heavily on the
long ball and pacy forwards in the first half and a
series of spoiling tactics in the second.
With this in
mind, if the Ladies concentrate on their game and play the
attractive football they are capable of we should ask
more questions of Orient this time around.
Team from:
Tina Hills,
Toni Munro,
Jenny Curtis, Lorraine
Sparrow, Kelly Herrett, Kerry Daniells, Samantha Farnum, Jackie Fearon,
Gill Blackmore, Steph Lappen, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Chrissy Oshodi,
Beth Richards, Latoyah Johnson.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Crystal Palace
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 10th November 2002 - Kick Off
14.00
Venue : Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
After last week's very
good win over Leyton Orient Ladies, Spurs return home hoping to carry
on their good run ...
Sunday sees a
rare home fixture for the Ladies. After several
changes, we have our opponents confirmed as Crystal Palace
Ladies, who like ourselves have had a mixed bag of results
so far this season, but if the Spurs Ladies continue with
their current form, we should pose a formidable opponent for
any side to visit.
There are no
current injury problems and with our reserve game cancelled
it may give an opportunity of a first team appearance to
one or two of our rising stars?
Team from:
Tina Hills,
Toni Munro,
Jenny Curtis, Lorraine
Sparrow, Kelly Herrett, Lucy Palmer, Kerry Daniells, Sam Farnum, Jackie Fearon,
Gill Blackmore, Steph Lappen, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Chrissy Oshodi,
Handan Djoshkoun, Latoyah Johnson.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Southend Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 17th November 2002 - Kick Off
14.00
Venue : Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
Having last week's game
cancelled because of heavy rain making the pitch unplayable, Spurs
return to action with a visit from a team from the far East ...
This Sunday
sees a visit to Brimsdown by Southend Ladies.
After the
disappointment of our cancelled fixture with Crystal
Palace the girls are eager to play a Southend team that
have so far this season failed to shine, although after
drawing both home and away last season the Spurs Ladies
know to take nothing for granted and that every game must
be approached with the same professional attitude that has
been evident of late.
The girls know
it will be tough to challenge for the league
after another slow start to the season but now we are
firing on all cylinders they know the importance of
Sundays fixture.
There are no
serious injury worries but Lucy Auguste is still being
troubled by a knee problem and may be rested and
Lorraine Sparrow will be missing due to family
commitments.
Team from:
Tina Hills,
Toni Munro,
Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Lucy Palmer, Kerry Daniells, Sam Farnum, Jackie Fearon,
Gill Blackmore, Steph Lappen, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Chrissy Oshodi,
Handan Djoshkoun, Latoyah Johnson, Dominique Clarke.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Dagenham & Redbridge
Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 24th November 2002 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
With a straight four game
winning run, Spurs face one of their most familiar opponents this
season and manager Pete Skinner looks at the tough challenge ahead ...
This Sunday sees a
visit to Brimsdown by Dagenham an Redbridge.
After a tight defeat
by the Daggers in extra time in the F.A. Cup and a sound
thrashing in the earlier league encounter, the Ladies are well and
truly out for revenge this weekend.
This is a game that
the ladies know they must win to stay in the chasing pack with
this season's title hopefuls. Although we didn't fare too
well in our last meeting, we know that was due more to the absence
of captain Jackie Fearon, the experienced Lorraine Sparrow and
several injuries caused by the bruising encounter the previous
week than the good play of Dagenham, which seems to mostly
rely on pacy forwards and a hoofed ball from the midfield.
We only have Kerry
Daniels missing this weekend so we should field a full
side for what promises to be our toughest challenge this season .
Team from:
Tina Hills, Lorraine Sparrow, Handan
Djoshkoun, Kelly Herrett, Dominique Clarke, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Steph Lappen, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Latoyah
Johnson, Jenny Curtis, Toni Munro, Beth Richards, Samrawit Bereket.
Crystal Palace Ladies v Tottenham Hotspur
Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 8th December 2002 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue :
Having had a break of
three weeks without a game because of the weather and opponents cup
commitments, the team will be champing at the bit to get going
again. Peter Skinner views his resources for this week's match...
This week sees us on
our travels to meet Crystal Palace.
This should be a
real test of our squad strength with Chrissy Oshodi injured, our
American winger Steph Lappen returned to California after being
unable to renew her work permit here and
recent debutant Dom Clarke is also unavailable for selection.
This should give a
chance for reserve captain Lucy Palmer to step in and hopefully
test the Palace defence.
Other than these
two changes we have a full strength squad and having been denied a
game for the last few weeks due to waterlogged pitches, the Ladies
are raring to go and hopefully carry on playing some solid passing
football of late. Palace have had some impressive results
this season, so the girls know this is going to be a strong test
for them, but they know only a win will keep them in the chasing
pack in the run up to Christmas .
Team from:
Tina Hills, Lorraine Sparrow, Handan
Djoshkoun, Kerry Daniells, Kelly Herrett, Dominique Clarke, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Latoyah
Johnson, Jenny Curtis, Beth Richards, Lucy Palmer.
Southend Ladies v Tottenham Hotspur
Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 12th January 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Southend United FC, Roots Hall, Southend, Essex
for map)
This Sunday sees the
ladies back in action after a long Christmas break .
We travel to Roots Hall
to play Southend Ladies in our the return fixture of our earlier
comfortable 4-0 home win.
This fixture has been
moved to Southend United's football league ground after an
initiative to encourage women's football by league clubs showing the
ever growing popularity of ladies football.
This weekend sees the
call up to the squad of Under-15 sensation Gemma Coots after
impressing reserve manager June Clarke. She should see her
first team debut and with no injury worries Spurs should field a
strong side .
Team from:
Tina Hills, Lorraine Sparrow, Handan
Djoshkoun, Kerry Daniells, Kelly Herrett, Dominique Clarke, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Latoyah
Johnson, Gemma Coots, Ruth Waghorn.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Southwark Town
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 19th January 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
This week sees a home
fixture against Southwark Town United.
A new team to the
premier league this season not much is know about Southwark other
than their results have been up and down this season so the ladies
will have to be on top form to prevent a surprise defeat.
This fixture comes after
a long lay off due to Christmas and the weather but lots of hard
work has been done on the training ground to ensure fitness levels
are high and the team is firing on all cylinders.
Again the squad is a
mixture of youth and experience with Gemma Coots being called up
from the U15's after last weeks disappointing postponement and
should also see the return of Christina Oshodi after a long lay off
due to a knee injury.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Lorraine Sparrow, Kelly Herrett,
Kerry Daniells, Dominique Clarke, Gemma Coots, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Jenny Curtis,
Chrissie Oshodi, Beth Richards, Samrawit Bereket.
Barnet Copthall v Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 26th January 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Metropolitan Police Training Centre, Hendon (supporters not
allowed for security reasons)
This Sundays sees the ladies
desperate to play after all their 2003 fixtures being postponed due to
weather conditions.
The girls have been
training hard and looking bright and keen but as any footballer will
know there is no substitute for match fitness an the longer we go
without a game the more worrying it becomes that the players will lose
that edge, even an attempt to play a midweek friendly against
local rivals Enfield this week has been thwarted by more torrential
rain.
So fingers crossed we
should travel to the Metropolitan Police training centre, Hendon for a
traditionally tough encounter with Barnet Copthall.
Barnet managed a league
and cup double over the Spurs last season so the girls know they have a
real challenge if they are to take the honours and stay in the chasing
pack trying to claw back some ground on the current league leaders.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Lorraine Sparrow, Kelly Herrett,
Kerry Daniells, Dominique Clarke, Gemma Coots, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Chrissie Oshodi,
Latoyah Johnson.
Charlton Athletic 3rds v Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League Cup
Sunday 2nd February 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue :
(for map click here)
This Sunday sees the Ladies
on their travels again to Charlton Athletic 3rds.
We already now a little
about this side, as Charlton play in the Reserves League and the two
have already met twice this season. We know they are a young fit
side and with their first team playing at the highest level in the
National Premier League they will test our side to the limits.
After a very pleasing
performance against Barnet Copthall the team will remain unchanged and
there are no injury worries.
The girls really worked
hard on Sunday and just couldn't find the back of the net, despite
several excellent chances created by some, at times, breath-taking
football and a lot of hard work and perseverance, so, hopefully, we
will just be looking for a change of luck this week .
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Lorraine Sparrow, Kelly Herrett,
Kerry Daniells, Dominique Clarke, Gemma Coots, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Chrissie Oshodi,
Latoyah Johnson.
Southwark Town United v Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division
Sunday 9th February 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : South Bank University Sports Ground, Turney Road, London,
SE21 7JH (for map click here)
This week sees the Ladies
travel to the South Bank University ground to tackle Southwark.
We still haven't met this team after the corresponding home fixture was
postponed due to the weather, but the form book has to favour the
Spurs Ladies. Southwark have struggled to make their mark on the
Premier League so far, but we also know that no team can be taken
for granted and with the long period without games due to the bad
weather, the lack of match sharpness could play a part in this
fixture.
The mood in the
ladies camp is however buoyant, having been a very exciting time
off the pitch with the men's team sponsorship announcement and other,
soon to be made public, developments, which will ensure the future of
the ladies team is very promising indeed.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Lorraine Sparrow, Kelly Herrett,
Kerry Daniells, Beth Richards, Gemma Coots, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Gemma Coots, Chrissie Oshodi,
Latoyah Johnson.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Redbridge Raiders
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 16th February 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
This week sees Redbridge
Raiders visit Brimsdown.
The away match saw Spurs
draw 2-2 with a youthful Redbridge side who are much improved on recent
seasons. The previous meeting was as exciting a game as you could
want to watch, with end to end action and many chances created by both
sides.
If you only get to see
the Ladies once, this is the game and if you have never watched a women's
match make the effort for this one, as we will be doing our best to make
it worthwhile !
This week sees regular
keeper Tina Hills make way for in form Toni Munro.
Team from:
Toni Munro, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Lorraine Sparrow,
Kerry Daniells, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Latoyah Johnson, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Chrissie Oshodi, Ruth
Waghorn, Gemma Coots.
Colney Heath v Tottenham Hotspur Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 23rd February 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue :
This Sunday sees the Ladies
make the short journey to Colney Heath.
This is always a tough
fixture and with all the postponements of late the ladies will need to
be on their toes to avoid disappointment. We know the Colney
fixture is always a physical encounter and although we had a convincing
4-0 win earlier in the season we will take nothing for granted.
This Sunday sees Meroulla
Lazarou included in the squad after a very successful first season in
the reserves being top goal scorer and a fine brace to win last weeks
reserve match at Denham.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Lorraine Sparrow,
Kerry Daniells, Sam Farnum, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Latoyah Johnson, Meroulla Lazarou, Zoella Freeman,
Chrissy Oshodi, Ruth
Waghorn, Gemma Coots.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Barnet Copthall
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 2nd March 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
Conditions permitting this
week should see the ladies play host to Barnet Copthall.
We felt rather robbed
after playing Barnet last month and dominating the game only to lose out
to some disputable refereeing decisions.
This will see the ladies
looking to improve on the resulting 2-2 scoreline which was in no way a
reflection on the possession and missed chances the ladies created.
The team will be
relatively unchanged from last week with only Kelly Herrett missing,
which should see the first team debut of new signing Claire Halfpenny
who has impressed in the reserves.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Clare Halfpenny, Lorraine Sparrow,
Kerry Daniells, Sam Farnum, Gemma Coots, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Latoyah Johnson, Meroulla Lazarou, Zoella Freeman,
Chrissy Oshodi, Ruth Waghorn.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Southwark Town United
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 9th March 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
This week sees the Ladies
play host to Southwark.
This fixture will be
played as a "double header" after several postponements due to
inclement weather earlier in the season.
This involves playing two fixtures of 30 minutes each half back to back.
After a battle royal last
week against arch rivals Barnet the Ladies relish the thought of a
"six pointer " this weekend.
We have to be careful as
double headers have been the undoing of many teams in the past and in
recent seasons have actually contributed to the ladies failing to win
promotion. It will be vital to come out with all guns blazing as the
shortened matches sometimes find teams not getting into their stride
until it is too late.
With Kelly Herrett
available again, Clare Halfpenny returns to the Reserves after a solid
game last week in the senior side. Lucy Auguste is also welcomed
back to the first team squad, as is Dom Clarke, with the need for fresh
players in case of injury and tiredness in the double header situation.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Lorraine Sparrow,
Kerry Daniells, Dom Clarke, Sam Farnum, Gemma Coots, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Meroulla Lazarou, Zoella Freeman,
Chrissy Oshodi, Ruth Waghorn.
Southend Ladies v Tottenham Hotspur
Ladies
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 16th March 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Southend United FC, Roots Hall, Southend, Essex
for map)
This weekend sees the ladies
on travel to seaside resort of Southend.
This fixture was postponed earlier in the season, but should now take
place at Roots Hall - home of Southend's Football League male
counterparts.
After a pleasing six
points gained in the weekends double header the ladies are hoping to add
to a four game winning run against the team rooted to the bottom of the
table. With other teams around us dropping points, it is
imperative we keep picking points up in the chase for the top.
We will take nothing for
granted though as last year the corresponding fixture ended honours even
and we know playing at Roots Hall will give Southend an added boost.
The Spurs team should
stay unchanged from the weekend providing Dom Clarke can prove her
fitness after picking up a back injury in a brave tackle at the weekend
and hopefully will see the return of winger Sam Farnum who missed the
Southwark games with a cold.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Lorraine Sparrow, Kerry
Daniells, Kelly Herrett, Dom Clarke, Sam Farnum, Chrissy Oshodi, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman, Meroulla Lazarou, Gemma Coots, Ruth Waghorn.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Dagenham & Redbridge
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 23rd March 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
Sunday sees the Ladies play
host to Dagenham and Redbridge.
This is a meeting of the
two form teams of the London Premier Division, although Dagenham have
had the upper hand in our more recent matches, but the Ladies
know that pride is at stake this weekend and will be hoping to give a
good account of themselves.
We still have a few key
players missing for the game and this could cause problems for us, but
we have a superb reserve squad to call on this term and should be able
to cope.
The Ladies have been
playing some of their best football of late and Dagenham always seem to
raise their game when they meet us, so whatever the result we know that
this should be one to watch, with both teams vying for a place at the
top of the league.
Missing from Sundays line
up will be Dom Clarke (back) Sam Farnum (flu) Lorraine Sparrow (flu) and
there are also players hoping to shake off knocks from last weeks match
at Southend including Jenny Curtis (back) Kelly Herrett (twisted ankle)
and Kerry Daniells (knee).
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Handan Djoshkoun,
Kerry Daniells, Gemma Coots, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Meroulla Lazarou, Zoella Freeman,
Chrissy Oshodi, Ruth Waghorn, Samrawit Bereket.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
London Women
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 30th March 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
This week sees London
Women visit Brimsdown.
This should be a
slightly easier match but as ever we will be ready for any surprises
that are thrown our way. Traditionally,
this fixture is always a high scoring affair with Spurs having the upper
hand in recent meetings.
We have a full squad with
the exception of Ruth Waghorn who is away this weekend but this
shouldn't prove a problem with the return of Sam Farnum last week after
a long layoff with illness.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Lorraine Sparrow, Handan Djoshkoun,
Kerry Daniells, Sam Farnum, Gemma Coots, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Meroulla Lazarou, Zoella Freeman,
Chrissy Oshodi, Samrawit Bereket.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Redbridge Raiders
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 6th April 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
Yet again the Ladies are at
home this week sees Redbridge Raiders visit fortress Brimsdown.
The ladies are unbeaten
in 2003 and know that that record could well be broken Sunday as they
meet a raiders side that is vastly improved this season.
The earlier meeting ended
in a 3-3 draw and both sides will be looking to improve their fortunes
this time round.
Spurs have no injury
worries other than winger Sam Farnum who after returning as substitute
after a long lay off with the flu took a fall down some stairs and is
back in the treatment room.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Lorraine Sparrow,
Kerry Daniells, Gemma Coots, Gill Blackmore,
Jackie Fearon, Lucy Auguste, Zoella Freeman,
Chrissy Oshodi, Samrawit Bereket, Ruth Waghorn.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Crystal Palace
Greater London Regional Women's League - Premier Division.
Sunday 20th April 2003 - Kick Off 14.00
Venue : Brimsdown Rovers FC, Goldsdown Road, Brimsdown (click here
for a map)
This week sees Crystal Palace
visit Brimsdown.
Despite trying to get
this fixture moved we are left with no choice but to play on Easter
Sunday, which will see many regular first team players missing.
This seems harsh for the
Ladies as the Reserves have also had a Sue Sharples Memorial Trophy Semi
Final scheduled for the same date so this leaves Pete Skinner unable to
call on his Reserves for this fixture. This will leave the gaps
in the team to be filled by U-15 players although this shouldn't cause
too many problems, as U-15 Gemma Coots has been playing regular first
team football for some months now and Jenny Homer made a fine debut at
Southend earlier in the season and followed it up with another brief
appearance against Redbridge Raiders. Fellow U-15's Sam Chase and
Cas Brown have both had Reserve experience and constantly impressed the
first team manager in training.
Pete Skinner said, "
It's disappointing that we couldn't get the fixture moved, but this
shouldn't have too much bearing on the result as the players we have
coming through the club system are playing at a high standard and many
have already played at senior level."
Missing from the squad
will be Kerry Daniells, Lorraine Sparrow, Ruth Waghorn, H Djoshkoun and
captain Jackie Fearon is a worry after coming off at half time with a
hamstring pull during the Redbridge game.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Jenny Homer, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Sam Farnum,
Chrissy Oshodi, Gill Blackmore, Jackie Fearon, Gemma Coots, Sam Chase,
Cas Brown, Zoella Freeman, Latoyah Johnson, Samrawit Bereket, Meroulla
Lazarou, Lucy Auguste.
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies v
Chelsea
Friendly
Sunday 15th May 2003 - Kick Off 18.00
Venue : Tottenham Hotspur FC, White Hart Lane Stadium, High
Road, London N17 (click here
for a map)
We are very pleased to be
able to welcome Chelsea Ladies to White Hart Lane for this very special
occasion.
This match is a milestone
in the Ladies history as this will be the only our second ever match at
the Lane and the first at the invite of Tottenham Hotspur FC. This
is proof of how the women's game is developing and also of the excellent
support we receive from the main club and for this I must add my own
thanks to all the people at the club for their hard work and support .
We hope the night's game
will be entertaining and are therefore very pleased that Chelsea were
able to oppose us, as both clubs have a rich tradition of passing
football. With Chelsea playing their football in the National League,
we know the standard will be high and I know the Ladies from both sides
are eager to put on a show at this ground.
We have a full squad to
choose from, but with both the U15s and Reserves contesting cup finals
at the weekend, the Ladies are keen not to pick up any injuries and
therefore may protect a couple of players who otherwise may have made
appearances.
ENTRANCE TO THE MATCH IS FREE
AND ACCESS TO THE GROUND WILL BE VIA THE WEST STAND ON TOTTENHAM HIGH
ROAD. PLEASE COME ALONG AND SEE THE LADIES - YOUR SUPPORT WILL BE
APPRECIATED.
Team from:
Tina Hills, Toni Munro, Jenny Homer, Jenny Curtis, Dom Clarke, Handan
Djoshkoun, Kelly Herrett, Lorraine Sparrow, Kerry Daniells, Sam Farnum,
Chrissy Oshodi, Gill Blackmore, Jackie Fearon, Gemma Coots, Zoella Freeman, Latoyah Johnson,
Samrawit Bereket,
Ruth Waghorn, Meroulla
Lazarou, Lucy Auguste.
