The Pyramid
of women's football in this country consists of four levels.
At the top
of the pyramid is the FA Women's Premier League.
This is divided into three divisions.
The Premier National Division is the top league, with the Premier
Northern Division and the Premier Southern Division feeding into the
Premier League on an equal footing, just below it.
Feeding
into the top echelon are four Women's Combination Leagues - these are
based on the following areas - South East, South West, Midlands and
Northern.
The next
rung of the pyramid contains ten Women's Regional Leagues - based on the
following regions ...
South East, Southern, South West, Greater London, Eastern, East
Midlands, West Midlands, North West, Yorkshire & Humberside and
Northern.
At the
bottom of the pyramid come the County Leagues, which are numerous in the
amount of divisions and clubs they have playing in them, making it a
very wide base for the game to feed up from.
