Another
well deserved win for these young girls who are continuing to improve
their skills under the guidance of their manager, Jayne Foster.
The
girls lined up with Georgia Bruce in goal, a back three of Hannah Lyons,
Olivia Keown and Rauda Parkes and up front Nicole Bailey, Nikki Hunnable
and Phoebe Ogunnwobi (subs were Charlotte McLucas, Daisy O’Sullivan
and Ayse Mustafa).
Tottenham
started brightly with good surging runs from Nicole Bailey and Nikki
Hunnable, only to be denied by a packed Hitchin defence. It did not take long for Nicole Bailey to unlock the Hitchin
defence with a surging run from her own goal area to score from a tight
angle. The strong Hitchin defence had plenty to do with shots from
Phoebe and Nikki only to be denied.Nikki slotted a lovely pass through to Hannah Lyons to put the
ball into the Hitchin goal.
The
Tottenham defence stood strong when Hitchin did break, with Olivia Keown
making some good clearances.The
first half finished with some good pressure from the Tottenham girls
with shots from Nikki and Ayse who came on as sub.
The
second half started with Charlotte McLucas starting and with Georgia
Bruce being relieved of her goal keeping duty by Ayse. The Spurs girls started much the same as the first half with
shots either going just wide or being stopped by a packed Hitchin
defence.
There
was some impressive play from Rauda Parkes and Charlotte McLucas, who
made some good tackles and a lovely run down the wing. With the
arrival of Renata Inniss, who started turning the Hitchin defence inside
out, it was only a matter of time before the lead was to be increased,
with a rocket of a shot from just outside the Hitchin area from Nicole
Bailey to make it 3-0.
Tottenham
nearly increased the lead when Renata passed to new team member Daisy O’Sullivan,
who struck a lovely ball, only for it to go just wide.

The Tottenham
Ladies Under-10s made an excellent start to their League Cup campaign
against a team they had previously beat at home 3-2 in the league.
The Tottenham
team made a positive start with good linking play between Nikki Hunnable
and Renata Inniss, with Nicole Bailey having the first shot on goal.Tottenham caused plenty of problems for the Denham defence
and Spurs pushed forward for a goal, which eventually came from Ayse
Mustafa for a well-deserved 1-0 lead after seven minutes.
Denham did not
have much luck in breaking the Tottenham defence which consisted of
Hannah Lyons, Olivia Keown, Nicole Bailey and Rauda Parkes in goal.
The second
goal came about on the 12th minute with Renata picking the ball up from
a Denham goal kick and taking it forward with some great skill switching
the ball onto both feet and putting it into the net to the side of
the Denham goalkeeper.With
Tottenham making the most of the play, but being denied by a solid
Denham defence Nicole Bailey picked the ball up from approximately 25
yards and struck, what is becoming her trademark, a blistering shot -
unfortunately on this occasion it was saved by the Denham goalkeeper.
The girls
broke for half time with a good first half performance behind them.
The second
half started with Georgia Bruce up front along with Renata and Phoebe
Ogunwobi and the defence of Hannah Lyons, Nicole Bailey and Olivia Keown.Denham started the second half with a shot on goal which was
collected easily by Rauda Parkes.Spurs
made a counter attack with a good passing move from Renata through to
Georgia who had a good shot on goal, but was denied by the visiting keeper. With some lovely link up play by the Tottenham girls, it was
Nicole Bailey who made it 3-0 with her trademark shot from 20 yards,
which caught the Denham goalkeeper off guard.
Charlotte
McLucas, on as sub, got caught at the back on a counter attack by Denham
and as much as she tried to make up ground the Denham forward was too
quick and made it 3-1.The
Tottenham girls seemed to want to make amends with a good run of the
whole length of the pitch by Nicole Bailey and played a good pass
through to Phoebe, only for the Denham goalkeeper to make a good
save. Although Denham had more chances in the second half, it was
at the other end that the Denham goalkeeper made save after save to deny
the Tottenham forwards.
It was Renata
who played a long pass into the path of Phoebe, who sprinted towards the
Denham goal and scored to make it 4-1.
Manager Jayne
Foster said it was a good all round performance by the Tottenham girls
with some lovely passing balls and showed a good understanding between
them. Her player of the match was Nicole Bailey, who peppered the
goal with her fine shooting and she put a lot of effort into the match.

well-deserved victory against a good defensive team with Tottenham
Ladies having most of the possession and only some good saves from the
Denham goalkeeper denied the Tottenham girls doubling the score line.
The first goal
came from Renata Inniss who scored a lovely goal from a tight angle. The Tottenham girls extended their lead in the second half with
another superb goal from Ayse Mustafa, who made an excellent run and
scored from a tight angle.
The Tottenham
girls put themselves under pressure from time to time, but a solid
looking defence always managed to clear the danger away.
The
Tottenham Under-10 girls’ unbeaten record came to an abrupt halt in
this end-to-end game.
The performance was under par, with the
Tottenham defence all at sea at times. But full credit should go to the Garston Ladies played extremely
well and hopefully the Tottenham girls will learn from this defeat to
bounce back to the form they have showed in the unbeaten run since the
first game of the season.
One positive note is the determination
the Tottenham girls showed in the second half to come back from 4-2 down
to lead 5-4 at one stage. The Tottenham goal scorers where Phoebe
Ogunwobi, Nikki Hunnable (2), Ayse Mustafa and two from Renata Inniss.

Tottenham
started this match like the steam train that passed Fred Knights in the
second half to record another group win in their League Cup campaign.
It took only three minutes for Ayse
Mustafa to open the scoring after Nikki Hunnable had made a break down
the left wing. Two minutes later and Ayse made it 2-0, this time
Renata setting her up for her goal from the left flank.
The situation was reversed after seven
minutes, when Ayse returned the compliment for Renata to score from
inside the box. Renata played a major part in the fourth goal,
making a diagonal run from right to left, before pulling the ball back
into the area, where Nikki was unmarked in front of the goal to tap home
the inviting cross.
The Stevenage keeper pulled off some
brave saves and Ayse missed what would have been a very good goal, when
she volleyed Nikki's corner a yard wide. However, on 13 minutes,
Renata cracked in a fine goal from the left side that the keeper had no
chance of stopping and five minutes later, she completed her hat trick,
taking a corner from Nikki in a similar position and firing home her
shot into the net.
It was a combination of off-target
shooting, inspired keeping and a determined defence that kept Tottenham
at bay in the second half, with only one goal going into the Vixens
net. That came three minutes after the break, when the keeper did
well to save Hannah Lyons' shot, but the ball fell to Phoebe Ogunwobi,
who finished neatly from a tight angle to make it 7-0 and that was how
the game ended.
The Spurs defence had been fairly
untroubled, but in the second period, the Vixens were more solid and
adventurous, meaning that Olivia Keown, Nicole Bailey, Hannah and
Charlotte McLucas had to be aware to intercept the runs towards goals by
the visiting girls.
The
Tottenham girls cruised to a well-deserved victory in a one sided game
that could have ended with the score being in double figures.
With some superb football being played in
the first half and great link up play between Nikki Hunnable and Renata
Inniss; the first goal came from a lovely through pass from Olivia Keown
to Renata Inniss, who beat the Hitchin goalkeeper to make it 1-0.With almost all the play in the Hitchin half the Tottenham
defence of Olivia Keown, Hannah Lyons, Georgia Bruce had little to
do. Tottenham came close to increasing their lead with a
well-struck free kick from Nikki Hunnable just going over the crossbar.
With Hitchin defending in numbers
Tottenham were being denied time and time again.Tottenham won a corner from one of their many attacks - up
stepped Nikki Hunnable to take a superb corner, which picked out the
ever-impressive Georgia Bruce to catch the ball superbly and score into
the top corner of the Hitchin goal. The Tottenham girls increased their
lead just before half time, when Ayse Mustafa showing great skill as she
turned and laid off to Nikki who made it
3-0.
The second half started with Nicole
Bailey’s first touch shooting on the Hitchin goal, only for the ball
to go wide.Nicole was
unlucky not to score when Ayse played a precise ball through to her and
she shot, only for the ball to bounce off the Hitchin goalkeeper for a
corner.The Tottenham
goalkeeper, Daisy O’Sullivan, had little to do and when Hitchin did
counter attack the Tottenham substitutes, Charlotte McLucas and Rauda
Parkes, tidied things up nicely.Phoebe Ogunwobi produced a good performance in the second
half being thwarted time and time again, either the ball hitting the
post or the Hitchin goalkeeper denying her a goal.
Spurs increased their lead when Nikki
played a lovely ball to Renata, who volleyed the ball into the back of
the Hitchin net to make it 4-0.Nikki
made it five when Phoebe played the ball through for her to score. The
lead was extended with a well deserved goal from Phoebe, who had been a
menace to the Hitchin defence in the second half and she showed great
persistence to make it 6-0.
A good performance from these young
Tottenham ladies, who are proving that as a team working together, they
can make some lovely passing play to win the day.

The Tottenham girls
stormed into the semi-final of the Herts. Girls League Cup with a strong
performance, a good defensive display by Olivia Keown, Hannah Lyons and
Nicole Bailey, and some strong kicking by Tottenham's goalkeeper, Daisy
O’ Sullivan, who kept a clean sheet in goal.
The Tottenham girls
pushed forward from the start with some determined play from Renata
Inniss, who constantly put the Watford defence under pressure. The opening goal fell to the Player of the Match, Nikki Hunnable,
who benefited from some good link up play from Hannah, who passed to
Renata, who laid the ball on for Nikki to make it 1-0.
The Tottenham front
players continued to put pressure on the Watford strong defence with
Ayse Mustafa working her socks off and making strong tackles one after
another. Tottenham went into the break with the lead.
The second half started
with an unchanged Tottenham side and Watford trying to level the score,
only for the Tottenham girls to stifle them with Nicole Bailey making
some lovely runs from defence along the line and then switching through
the middle. Georgia Bruce came on as substitute for the injured
Renata and not long after Nicole played a through ball to Ayse, who put
the ball into the middle of the Watford area, only for Georgia to find
the ball just a fraction too far in front of her and the shot went just
wide.
Ayse
increased the Tottenham score from a throw-in from Hannah.
Controlling the ball with her chest, Ayse turned the Watford defenders
and the ball found the bottom corner of the Watford goal.Nikki was later substituted with Phoebe Ogunwobi, to add pressure
to the Watford Ladies. The remainder of the second half saw Tottenham maintain their
well-earned lead, with Olivia doing a great job in controlling the
Tottenham defence.

The
Tottenham girls lost this eagerly awaited match against a good Luton
Belles team.
With a first half performance that had
good possession from both teams, it was Nikki Hunnable who opened the
scoring with a lovely run from just past the half way line to skip past
the Luton defence and goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
The Luton girls seemed inspired and put
the Tottenham defence of Nicole Bailey, Olivia Keown and Hannah Lyons
under pressure but with the Tottenham girls holding out Luton where
awarded a penalty for hand ball in the Tottenham area. The Luton player hit the crossbar with her penalty kick and the
ball seemed to bounce on the line only for the penalty to be retaken for
encroaching the penalty area by a Tottenham player. The Luton player made no mistake the second time to make it 1-1.The first half finished with the Tottenham forwards of Nikki
Hunnable, Renata Innis and Ayse Mustafa trying to regain the lead, but
to no avail.
The second half saw the Tottenham girls
lose the momentum that they had in the first half. With the girls playing too deep, that was inviting the strong
Luton forward line to put more pressure on the Tottenham goal. With Luton notching up three more goals, Jayne Foster, the
Tottenham manager, tried to get something from the game with the withdrawal
of Nikki, Nicole, Ayse, Renata and the substitutes Charlotte McLucas, Rauda
Parkes, Phoebe Ogunwobi and Georgia Bruce coming on, but they unable to
change the outcome of what was a under par second half performance by
the Tottenham girls.
