The Under-10s' first
competitive game saw Tottenham begin their campaign in fine style.
Within two minutes of the kick off, Lulu Fox broke free to hit a fine
shot which opened the scoring and soon after Chloe Smith doubled the
score, after Lulu and Phoebe Guiver combined well.
Tottenham continued to
dominate, when Phoebe and Danielle Wheeler interchanged well in midfield
to send Danielle clear to add the third. Phoebe and Danielle ran
the middle of the park creating chances and although not adding to the
score, Phoebe displayed some fine qualities.
Lulu and Chloe showed their
striking prowess with some good movement inside the box to eventually
add the fourth via a simple tap in for Chloe. Danielle and Lulu
both added two more goals before the break in a very productive first
half.
Kathleen
Jackson came on in defence as a substitute for Phoebe in the second half
and captain Molly Bartrip moved into midfield. It wasn’t long
before Molly got on the score sheet with a fine individual goal after
rounding the keeper to score, Danielle and Chloe then completed their
hat-tricks and after Tottenham took their foot off the gas, Keegan
Russell and Kathleen snubbed out any Kettering threats with some very
confident defending which capped off a fine debut for all the girls.

The
Under 10s Blues entertained Chelmsford City Under 11s at Fred Knights
this weekend.
The
game began with Chelmsford on top, but Keegan Russell picked up on a
defensive mistake and hit a shot from 25 yards which beat the
keeper. Spurs then started to get into their stride and both sides
created plenty of chances, but at the break it remained 1-0. The
second half began very even until Phoebe Guiver and Danielle Wheeler
combined well to send Lulu Fox clear and her shot from just outside the
box went just inside the bottom corner to double the score.
Chelmsford
again pushed forward but joint players of the match Keegan and Molly
Bartrip gave an excellent display in defence, whilst Naomi Coulson in
goal was very tidy.
Chloe
Smith went very close from Danielle's corner when she volleyed just
wide.
Lulu,
Chloe, Danielle and Phoebe all went close, but Chelmsford defended well
and may have scored late on themselves.
A
special thanks to Chelmsford Staff, parents and especially the players
for an excellent display both on and off the pitch.

The
Under-10s started this match against Assendun Vikings Undeer-11s at a
blistering pace to match the blistering heat it was played in. A
goal within the first minute saw Chloe Smith shooting home from inside
the penalty area to give Spurs a very early lead. That was doubled
on three minutes, when a shot was blocked by the Assunden defence and it
flew to Lulu Fox on the left and she converted the chance low into the
net.
A
long ball over the heads of the opposition defence saw Chloe race onto
it and square the ball to give Lulu the opportunity to side-foot into an
empty net for the third Tottenham goal after 10 minutes. The
Assunden keeper was doing well to keep Spurs out and following a good
save in the 13th minute, Spurs mounted another attack and Lulu's cross
was turned in by Phoebe Guiver. The fifth goal came two minutes
later, with Lulu involved again, taking a corner that Danielle Wheeler
shot low into the bottom corner of the net.
Spurs
were passing the ball about very well in the hot conditions, but also
put in a lot of work, which took it's toll in the second half.
Before the first period came to an end, Danielle went on a good run and
teed up Chloe Smith to make the half-time score 6-0 with a neat
finish. The crossbar prevented it being seven at the break, as
Danielle struck a rising shot that bounced back off the woodwork right
on half-time.
The
blazing sun and the exertions of the first half must have sapped some of
the Spurs girls' energy, as Assunden regrouped to pick up their game and
Tottenham were unable to break them down as easily. Chloe had two
early chances, but the keeper made a good save to one and the other was
too high. Alison Woodward entered the play and made some
good runs with the ball, while at the back Naomi had little direct
action, with Keegan Russell and Molly Bartrip doing good work in front
of her to prevent the Vikings raids on goal. One free-kick of
Assunden's did cause some concern, but the ball missed the goal by about
two feet.
With
ten minutes of the second half gone, Chloe went on a long run from the
halfway line, but her shot was foiled by the keeper. Unluckily for
the Assunden team, the ball bounced kindly for Chloe to take it around
the goalie to shoot home her hat-trick goal and make it 7-0. Lulu
tested the keeper with a shot that was kept out and when the ball was
cleared to Molly, she hit a 25 yard shot just over the top. The
keeper rallied at the end to keep Spurs out and a couple of breaks
produced efforts on goal as Assunden tried hard to get something from
the match.

After a very short ten minute break spurs
played their second game of a hot afternoon.
The game was played at blistering pace
with both sides creating plenty of chances.
But both goalkeepers came out on top
until five minutes from the end, when an own goal gifted Writtle the
result. Spurs didn’t give up and were unfortunate not to
equalise after a 25 yard shot hit the bar and sailed over.
Every player worked extremely hard in the
hot conditions but lack of rest between games and older opposition took
its toll in the end.
Under different circumstances the result
would most certainly have been altered.

A
breath-taking display of finishing saw Hoddesdon Owls U10s meet Spurs
Ladies Under-10s Blues on the wrong day.
Not
afraid to pass the ball around, the Spurs girls opened the Owls up as
early as the first minute, when Danielle Wheeler finished a good run
with a shot that the Hoddesdon keeper pushed away. However, Louisa
Fox scored with a low shot that beat the keeper from the left hand side
to give Spurs the lead with one minute on the clock. Louisa forced
another save before Danielle's third minute shot was blocked and Louisa
shot home the second goal. Two minutes later, Phoebe Guiver played
in Chloe Smith, who hit the net with another low shot to make it 3-0.
Six
minutes had gone, when a Phoebe throw-in found Chloe and her pass to
Louisa was dispatched into the net to make it four goals for Tottenham
and three for her. Danielle got in on the scoring act after seven
minutes, when she struck a low shot past the keeper, who had little
chance to stop Tottenham going 5-0 up. Another
Louisa goal in the 10th minute came when she scored straight from her
corner kick. Danielle missed a good chance and the keeper tipped a
shot from Louisa over the bar. It was Chloe who robbed a defender
on the edge of the area and slipped the ball past the goalie, as she
came out to meet the Spurs forward in the 13th minute. In the next
minute, Danielle side-footed a coolly taken goal inside the near post to
make it 8-0, which became nine when Danielle turned provider for Chloe
to finish clinically in the 15th minute. Keegan
Russell broke out of her defensive position to make a good run up the
right wing and provided Chloe with an opportunity, which she sent
narrowly wide. In the 16th minute, Louisa latched onto a ball that
an Owls defender missed and slotted home to give Spurs double
figures. Molly Bartrip stepped forward to hit a 20 yard free-kick
just wide, while the goalkeeper was still organising her defence. but it
was only a brief respite, as in the 18th minute, Spurs went ahead 11-0
thanks to Danielle's low finish. Louisa's double hat-trick was
completed with a low shot from the left hand side of the area on 20
minutes and straight from the kick off, Danielle took the ball around a
defender and as the keeper came out, she put the ball past her for the
thirteenth goal. Just before the break, the Owls goalie made two
good saves and Chloe missed her kick when well placed. With
a breather at half-time, Spurs started the second half as they had the
first. Louisa needed two bites at the chance to score her seventh
goal of the game in the first minute of the second half and a minute
later, Danielle's right wing cross saw Louisa pass the ball back to
Molly, who put the ball into the net and made the score 15-0. Two
minutes after, Molly created a chance for Louisa to finish her scoring
for the day at 16-0 and in the fifth minute of the half, Alison
Woodward's cross was put in by Phoebe Guiver with the outside
of her foot. Alison
was making good progress along the right wing and was brought down for a
free-kick to Tottenham out wide on the line. About 20 yards out,
Molly struck a rocket of a drive to beat the keeper and make the score
19-0. Tottenham almost worked a training ground routine from a
corner, when Molly crossed the dead-ball and it was met by Chloe at the
far post and her volley only just went over the top. Alison was
the creator again to provide a pass to Chloe, who controlled the ball
and shot in the twentieth Spurs goal of the game and her fourth with 14
minutes of the half gone. Her fifth came in the next minute with a
shot from inside the area and the scoring was completed with nine
minutes remaining as Phoebe and Chloe were denied by the defiant
Hoddesdon defence, but unfortunately for them, the ball dropped to
Alison, who got a well-deserved goal. Spurs
pressed on, with Molly hitting the post and Spurs were then denied another goal,
when the Owls keeper pulled off a good save from Chloe's penalty kick,
awarded after a handball in the area. A
very good performance by the Spurs girls should not overshadow the
determination of the Hoddesdon Owls girls to keep going despite the
mounting score and full credit to them for their efforts.

Tottenham again went on another goal
scoring spree in the Chairman's Cup on their visit to Northwood.
Four goals each from Chloe Smith and Lulu
Fox were added to by two each from Danielle Wheeler, Phoebe Guiver and
skipper Molly Bartrip to cap off a superb team performance.
The Northwood keeper gave an excellent
display in goal, despite the score line, but in the end Tottenham`s
dominance proved to be too much.
Keegan Russell, Alison Woodward
and Kathleen Jackson all contributed well to the final out come.

Spurs entertained a keen Buntingford side
with a quarter-final place in the
With just one
minute on the clock, Danielle Wheeler broke down the right hand side to
crack home a fierce shot to open the scoring. Two minutes later,
Danielle picked up a loose ball, attacked the Buntingford defence and
fired home to double the score.
After some fine build up play, Spurs
began to assert their dominance and after four minutes Lulu Fox added a
third. Three
minutes later Lulu added her second after Chloe hit a shot and the
keeper parried into Lulu's path. Spurs had to wait until
the fourteenth minute before Chloe Smith was rewarded for her hard work
with a cheeky goal, but then 40 seconds later Keegan Russell cleared up
a rare Buntingford attack, overlapping down the right wing created a
chance for Danielle to fire home her hat trick. Spurs got the
seventh after Phoebe Guiver, Danielle and Chloe combined well down the
right, ending in Danielle crossing for Lulu to hit one with the outside
of the foot to score after eighteen minutes.
The second half saw the emergence of
Alison Woodward, releasing captain Molly Bartrip into midfield.
Molly immediately caused problems linking well with Lulu, who crossed
into Chloe to fire home her second and Spurs eighth one minute into the
half.
Lulu got her fourth of the game after
some fine work from Danielle and Keegan. Molly then struck a super
drive which inched just wide and Kathleen Jackson entered the game and
was brought straight into the action feeding Molly and Keegan in
midfield eventually finishing with Phoebe finishing well to make it
ten. Keegan finally got on the score sheet with a fine strike from
outside the box to make it eleven.
The visiting keeper put in a superb
performance to stop Spurs who were hitting shots from
all angles and well done to Buntingford for their
determination. Spurs eased into the quarter finals of the Chairman's
Cup with a superb team performance, which grows better with every
game. A special mention to Naomi Coulson in goal, who is a very
important part of the side.

Spurs Under-10 Blues are in unstoppable form
at the moment and it was Lulu Fox who began the scoring after two
minutes followed shortly by two quick, well-taken, Chloe Smith
strikes.
Danielle Wheeler then took control of the
midfield with Phoebe Guiver, both players showing a fantastic ability
and awareness. Danielle suddenly pounced on a mistake to fire home
the Spurs fourth. Lulu then hit two more fine goals to complete
her hat trick, before Danielle and Keegan Russell then combined well
down the right flank to force a corner. This was taken by Danielle
and skipper Molly Bartrip met the corner and headed home the Spurs
seventh before half time.
The second half saw the emergence of
Isabella Rueben-Crompton making her debut for Spurs. Izzy was
straight into the action continuing Spurs' flowing football. The
ball was worked out to the right for Danielle to send in a superb cross
which was met at the far post by Lulu, who fired in for the eighth and
then the same combination linked up to add the ninth. Alison
Woodward came on for Danielle who received a well deserved
standing ovation, while Alison took no time at all in worrying the
Garston backline and forcing an own goal.
Lulu finally hit her double hat trick
after some fine build up play from Molly and Izzy. Izzy then got
her debut goal after good work from Alison and Keegan, which left Izzy
free to fire home. Molly, after clearing up well from defence,
seemed to take on the Garston team, which ended in a fantastic
individual goal. Danielle and Phoebe re-entered the field of play
in midfield, which moved Izzy and Alison up front.
Danielle hit a low drive from 20 yards,
which the Garston keeper couldn’t handle. Danielle then replaced
Naomi Coulson in goal, who joined in and displayed some fine outfield
qualities, linking up with Alison, who then got among the goals by
picking up on a mistake at the back. Phoebe was finally rewarded
for her endless work in the middle with a fine strike to make the goal
tally sixteen.
With five minutes remaining, Phoebe and
Alison both fired in goals to end Garston's cup run.
Chloe Smith got two goals today, but
showed she could also become a provider and showed that the
understanding between the two strikers has become awesome.
Garston Ladies must take a lot of credit
for their efforts today especially the goalkeepers who both pulled off
some fine saves to deny Spurs further goals. Well done to both sets of
girls.

Spurs
visited Enfield Town at the weekend and came up against a very strong
side.
The
game began with both sides trying to dominate in midfield. Ten minutes
had passed with neither side having created a clear chance, when
suddenly Lulu Fox got on the end of a superb Molly Bartrip through ball
and coolly slotted home the opener.
Spurs
then took the game on with some good play by Phoebe Guiver and Danielle
Wheeler. After some fine build up play Danielle, took possession in
midfield and attacked the Enfield defence and drove home a superb 20
yard goal to double the Spurs lead. Spurs continued to play
attractive football with Keegan Russell combining well with Danielle,
who put in a tremendous cross, Chloe Smith made an excellent dummy run,
and left Lulu clear on the left, a high ball into the box forced a
mistake from the home keeper and Spurs went into the break three goals
to the good.
Isabella
Rueben-Crompton came on at the break and slotted into midfield combining
with Danielle. Keegan and Molly were dominant at the back to restrict
Enfield only one chance on goal, which keeper Naomi Coulson pulled off a
great save. Spurs continued to play superb football, when again up
popped Danielle to fire home her second and the Spurs fourth. Alison
Woodward came on to bolster up the midfield and Lulu and Chloe
were giving the Enfield rearguard plenty to think about, which left Izzy
clear, with a chance, which inched just wide. As the game was
drawing towards an end the ball broke wide, and Lulu drove in for the
hat trick and finish Enfield off.
