The Spurs Ladies Under-10
Blues game against QPR started off with Tegan Burling in centre with Amy
Nash. Hannah Grafton took her position in goal.
From the whistle blow QPR
were on the attack they won possession of the ball and made a shot at
goal. Hannah knocked this away swiftly. Rangers were given a
corner kick which they aimed well and managed to score a goal against
The Blues. Hannah’s goal kick went to Tegan who ran with it up pitch
making it to the QPR goal area. The defence knocked the ball off
pitch giving Tottenham a corner. Gemma Biggadike came forward to
take this. Gemma’s kick went to Amy who headed the ball to Alliyah
McDonnell. QPR tackled and gained possession of the ball, they
kicked the ball away from the goal area but Kelsey Smith picked up the
ball and shot to Tila Lawton. QPR tackled for possession and won
kicking the ball back to the Spurs goal area taking a shot at goal.
Hannah knocked away and Tegan was there to get possession, Tegan went
for a wing run but QPR closed in on her regaining the ball and took a
wide shot at goal. Amy was there though to catch the ball on her
chest and pass to Leah Grafton who kicked the ball away to Kelsey.
Kelsey went to carry on up field but she was tackled and QPR made a shot
at goal which forced Hannah to dive for the ball but she was able to
catch it making the save. During the goal kick, a foul occurred
and QPR were given a free kick merely 15 yards from the goal. From
this they scored a second goal against the Blues. Half time was called.
The second half saw
Alliyah took her position in goal. Kunbi Soleye came on relieving Kelsey
and Tila Lawton came on for Gemma. From the whistle blow Tottenham were
applying pressure. QPR tried entering the Spurs goal area but
Hannah and Leah made great challenges and kept the ball at bay.
Tegan took a throw in which was aimed for Amy but QPR went for the
tackle and a free kick was given to them as a result. The free
kick was a shot at goal, but Alliyah saved and kicked down to Tila who
tried taking the ball away, but QPR tackled and kicked the ball to their
striker who shot for goal. Alliyah went to save the ball but it
was a good shot and went in. The goal kick was knocked off pitch and
Tegan took the throw in passing to Amy down the line. Amy passed
to Kunbi who played the middle field and crossed to Tegan who had made
it back down the pitch. Tegan went for the goal area but was tackled. At
this point a substitution was made bringing Kelsey and Gemma back on
pitch. QPR took a throw in which Amy got hold of and crossed to
Kelsey who cleared down to Gemma, who went up the wing, but the ball was
kicked off pitch. Some more good plays were made but it was not long
until the half time whistle was blown. The final score was 3-0 to QPR.
Although this game was a
loss to the Blues they should all be proud of the way they played the
game and for not giving up until the final whistle.
Player of the match went
to Amy Nash for her brilliant skills on pitch. Amy is proving herself in
defence making it difficult for the opposition to pass her and has an
impeccable talent for taking long throw ins and wide passes on her chest
and head with good control.

The
Spurs Ladies Under-10 Blues game against Enfield Rangers saw Kelsey
Smith taking her position in goal. Tegan Burling got possession of the
ball from the centre kick and took the ball to the wing and continued to
run up pitch. Tegan passed across to Gemma Biggadike and Gemma took the
ball closer to the goal area crossing over to Alliyah Mcdonnell. Enfield
intercepted the pass and cleared the ball down pitch heading towards the
Spurs goal box. Leah Grafton went for a tackle but Enfield passed and
had a shot at goal. Kelsey fiercely knocked the ball away.
Enfield were given a
corner so The Blues got into their positions. Amy Nash intercepted the
corner with one of her classic headers and passed to Hannah Grafton who
cleared the ball down pitch to where Tegan was waiting. Amy ran up to
Tegan and together the two got the ball back up to the Enfield goal
area. Seeing Gemma in front of the goal Tegan passed to her and Gemma
lobbed the ball into the top of the net. The score was 1-0.
Enfield were given a free
kick but Leah made a tackle and cleared the ball away. Enfield went for
the ball but Amy had the ball firmly under her feet dribbling around the
opposition and shooting towards Alliyah who had made herself available.
Alliyah took the ball up the wing but Enfield knocked the ball off
pitch, Gemma came forward to take the throw in. Seeing Tegan in a space
Gemma aimed for her but Enfield intercepted and took the ball back down
to the Spurs goal area. The Blues defence tried to get the ball away
quickly but a foul occurred and Enfield were granted a penalty kick.
It’s what every goal keeper dreads but Kelsey was ready to make her
move. The Enfield player took her strike and the ball went to the left
bottom corner. Kelsey made her dive and the ball did not make it in the
net.
Once the players got back
into their positions the game continued. Enfield battled to get the ball
into the Spurs half of the pitch but Alliyah and Amy made it tough for
them to break through the centre, Hannah and Leah backed them firmly in
defence. Half time was called, the score 1-0.
Amy took over from Kelsey
in goal for the second half. The girls were determined to keep ahead in
the game. Alliyah got the ball and had a brilliant run up pitch passing
to Gemma who shot straight for the goal and straight in it went making
the score 2-0. Still the girls were on their toes not slowing the pace.
Gemma took a free kick and went for the goal again but the Enfield
keeper knocked the ball behind the goal. Gemma took the corner, Enfield
intercepted and tried to take the ball away but Alliyah took the ball
back off of them and shot up to Tegan. Tegan ran back up the wing, she
saw a clearing and took her shot. A fantastic goal with an equally
brilliant celebration to match the score was now 3-0. The Enfield goal
keeper kicked the ball to the defender but Kelsey was straight on them,
if they were to pass her it wouldn’t be done easily. Kelsey got the ball
and dribbled around the player crossing to Gemma who swung the ball for
the goal. Hat-trick for Gemma leaving the score a smooth 4-0.
Tegan took a throw in
which Enfield got their feet on and made a break for the Spurs goal
area. Unluckily for them Hannah and Leah were on the guard so they did
not break through. Leah cleared the ball up to Kelsey who ran up passing
to Alliyah. Alliyah shot for the goal but it was knocked up and hit the
crossbar coming back onto the pitch right to the feet of our three goal
scorer. Not wasting the opportunity Gemma struck the ball and in it went
the score now 5-0.
Enfield went to clear the
ball away but again Kelsey was there blocking them from passing, when
they did Tegan snatched the ball and went for the goal. Tegan aimed,
shot and scored the sixth goal of the match. Enfield cleared the ball
all the way down pitch but Hannah was there to pick the ball up. Knowing
time was running out Hannah saw the clearing up the pitch and made a run
with the ball. Hannah ran all the way up the pitch to the goal area and
shot. Enfield made a dramatic save of the shot and the final whistle was
blown.
It has been almost six
weeks since the girls have played a game due to the adverse weather but
you would not have known that from the skill shown today a very good
comeback match girls well done.
Player of the match went
to:
Leah Grafton who stood
strong in defence, supported her team and saw to it that our goal
keepers had as little action as possible.
Hannah Grafton who also
supported her team, always ready to intercept a ball and has a great
clearing shot when necessary.

The
Spurs Ladies Under-10 Blues game against Enfield Rangers started with
Enfield in the centre circle. Hannah Grafton took the goal keeper
position. Immediately Enfield kicked off with determination they took
the ball to the Spurs goal box and went for a shot but Hannah was ready
to save this. Hannah kicked the ball towards Gemma Biggadike who went
down the wing to pass through to Kelsey Smith. Kelsey took the ball
further up pitch and passed to Tegan Burling. Tegan went for the goal
but the Enfield keeper saved and swiftly kicked the ball down pitch. Amy
Nash got the keepers ball but Enfield forced her to knock the ball of
pitch. Enfield took the corner but Amy was there to swiftly clear the
ball to the wing where Tegan was waiting. Tegan dribbled the ball up
pitch and crossed to Tila Lawton, Tila went further up pitch moving
around the opposition and passed back to Tegan who had followed her
keeping an open space. Tegan got the ball and being in the perfect
position took a shot at goal. This was the first goal of the match the
score 1-0 to The Blues.
The
Enfield keeper cleared the ball a safe distance and the Enfield players
took the ball to the spurs goal area determined to level the score. Leah
Grafton denied them of doing so tackling the player for the ball and
clearing it up to Gemma. Seeing Kelsey in sight Gemma moved herself
around the opposition and made the pass which Kelsey caught and went up
pitch to the goal area. Kelsey passed to Tegan who was ready and
waiting. Once Tegan got the ball off of Kelsey she kicked the ball
towards the back of the net and in the back of the net it went. The
score 2-0 to The Blues.
Enfield
took a centre kick and passed out to a fellow player. Gemma immediately
slide tackled for the ball winning possession, Gemma seized the
opportunity taking the ball to the goal area and took her shot which was
directly on target and so she suceeded. The score 3-0 to The Blues.
The
game continued with Enfield applying the pressure. Amy took a throw in,
seeing Tegan in sight she lunged the ball towards her. Tegan gracefully
controlled the ball and spun around to go for the goal area. With her
eye on the target Tegan shot for the goal and scored. The score was now
4-0 to The Blues and Tegan had just scored a hatrick.
Enfield got the ball back down to the Spurs end but Leah tackled them
and went to clear the ball away. Enfield was there to intervene the pass
and went back to the goal taking a shot. Hannah grasped the ball saving
it and kicked the ball out to Gemma on the wing. Gemma shot the ball
towards Tila who got around the opposition marking her to pass to
Kelsey. Kelsey did the same and got the ball safely for Tegan who was by
the goal. Now for most players a hatrick would be a great achievement
but for Tegan the sky’s the limit. Tegan took her fourth shot at goal
and scored her fourth goal. The score was now 5-0 to the Blues and the
half time whistle was blown.
Kelsey
and Tegan kicked off the second half in the centre circle. Alliyah
Mcdonnell came on reliving Tila. Enfield was immediately on the attack
winning possession of the ball and taking it to the Spurs goal area.
They got through the defence and took a shot for the goal scoring
against Tottenham bringing the score to 5-1. Hannah kicked the ball far
down the pitch to Tegan's possession. Tegan took the ball up and crossed
to Kelsey who got by the Enfield defender and gave a mighty kick towards
the goal and in it went. Kelsey scored the blues sixth goal of the match
making the score 6-1.
The
Enfield keeper kicked the ball down pitch but Alliyah caught the shot
and brought the ball back up pitch passing to Gemma. Gemma shot for the
goal but the keeper saved this and took the ball to the line for her
kick. Once the ball left her foot Amy jumped to catch the ball on her
chest making it land by her feet. Amy shot the ball back by the keeper
who gave a mighty go at stopping it but nothing could be done the goal
was scored. Amy made the score 7-1 to the Blues.
The
game continued and Enfield was granted a free kick. They took the
opportunity to shoot for the goal but Hannah was ready and prevented the
goal from being scored. Hannah passed the ball to Leah who took the ball
away from the goal area passing to Alliyah. Alliyah took the ball up
pitch and passed up to Kelsey but a foul occurred giving Spurs a free
kick. Gemma took this and with the goal in her sights kicked the ball
straight for the net. Nothing got in her way and Gemma made the score an
unbelievable 8-1 to Spurs.
A
substitution was made. Kelsey came off and Tila came on. Enfield kept
their heads up and showed the Blues nothing but determination they took
the goal kick and went straight for the goal area. They broke though and
took a shot at goal which they scored. The score was now 8-2.
Hannah
kicked the ball down pitch but Enfield intervened and passed. Tila
caught the Enfield pass and took the ball up pitch displaying fantastic
dribbling skills. Tila passed to Amy who crossed to Gemma but Enfield
knocked the ball off pitch giving Tottenham a corner. Gemma took this
but Enfield safely cleared the ball and the full time whistle was blown.
The game ended with the score a glorious 8-2.
Man of
the match went to Captain Tegan Burling. Besides her unbelievable
tackling and dribbling skills and being able to score 4 goals in one
game, this went to Tegan because she showed us all great team work
always being there to help her team mates when they needed her. Tegan
showed nothing but fearless leadership throughout the game.
This
was a fantastic win for the Blues who continue to vastly improve their
individual and team skills with each game. Well done girls.

The Spurs Ladies Under-10
Blues game against Denham started off differently from other matches.
The Blues team today consisted of five players. Tila Lawton took
her position in goal; Amy Nash, Kelsey Smith, Gemma Biggadike and Tegan
Burling were on the pitch.
Denham started the game
by kicking off in centre circle and Gemma quickly intercepted and passed
to Kelsey who shot for goal but this was saved. Tegan intercepted
Denham’s pass but the ball was knocked off pitch, Tegan took the throw
in passing to Kelsey. Kelsey passed up to Gemma but Denham gained
possession taking the ball to the Spurs goal area. Amy guarded the goal
area but was outmanned and kicked the ball off pitch. Denham took the
corner kick but Amy got the ball, swiftly clearing it to Tegan who ran
back towards the Denham goal area along the wing. Tegan passed to Kelsey
but Denham intervened. This was Kelsey’s ball though and she tackled the
player to win back possession. Kelsey passed back to Tegan who was in a
good position to shoot and she did. This was saved however and the
Denham keeper gave a mighty kick down the field. Amy was there to catch
the ball on her chest and she quickly kicked the ball towards Gemma.
Denham intercepted and took the ball back down pitch towards the goal,
taking a shot. Tila knocked this ball away from the net but Denham had
three players waiting to gain possession. They did and shot again but
Tila grasped the ball with all her might saving the ball again. Tila
kicked the ball towards Tegan on the wing and Tegan ran to centre
passing to Gemma. Seeing the clearing to the goal Gemma shot from the
centre line. A brilliant shot on target but the keeper stopped it from
scoring. Kelsey intercepted the Keepers kick and went for the goal area
taking a shot but Denham intercepted the shot and cleared the ball down
pitch. Amy intercepted a pass with a header but Denham were after the
ball before it landed, they took the ball to the goal area and spurs
were forced to knock the ball off pitch giving Denham a corner. Denham
positioned themselves well and the corner kick turned into a shot on
target. Tila was ready and caught the ball on the safe side of the goal
line.
Tila kicked the ball
towards Amy, Amy passed up to Tegan, Tegan shot through to Kelsey,
Kelsey passed to Gemma, and Gemma shot for the goal. The score was now
1-0 to The Blues. An unbelievable goal. The game carried on, but there
was not long before the half time whistle blew.
The second half carried
on with all the girls in the same positions. Denham was relentless
keeping on the Blues every step they took. They won possession of the
ball and took another shot at goal but Tila saved this and cleared the
ball down to Kelsey, who passed up to Gemma. Taking the ball to the goal
area Gemma took a shot. The keeper went for the save but the ball went
under her dive for the second goal for the Blues. The score was now 2-0.
Denham kicked the ball far down the pitch; they kept the ball with them
until they got to the goal area. Denham took a shot which was directly
on target and was sure to be a goal. Tila prevented this from happening
with a heart stopping save. With a deep breath Tila gave a mighty kick
down pitch towards Tegan, who controlled the ball but Denham tried to
intercept taking Tegan down with the tackle. This clearly was a painful
landing, but the determination in our captain was intense and she was
going to finish the game. The game continued with much difficulty. The
Blues were outnumbered and had to battle to keep the ball safely away
from the goal area. The girls were triumphant when the full time whistle
blew. The score was 2-0 to Tottenham.
Women of the match went
to:
Tila Lawton. Tila’s usual
position is not that of the goalkeeper, but her team needed her so she
stepped up to the challenge and was nothing but successful in doing so.
Kelsey Smith. Kelsey
constantly battled for the ball, making amazing tackles and had
brilliant runs up the pitch, always there to try and help her fellow
team mates.
Tegan Burling. Tegan held
out strong on the wing always made herself available and never stopped
running for the ball. Although outnumbered Tegan always managed to get
around the other players.
Gemma Biggadike. Gemma
spent the vast majority of the game running the ball around the
opposition, chasing passes and defending the goal area. Gemma
supported her team throughout.
Amy Nash. Amy
showed amazing defence skills and intercepted many of Denham’s passes by
chesting and heading the ball, giving it back to her team.
The Blues started this
game knowing that there was nothing but a challenge ahead. They kept
their heads and spirits high and showed everyone just what can be
achieved when you give it your all. Well done girls.
On a final note we would
like to thank the Denham players, who showed nothing but brilliant
sportsmanship and were extremely welcoming hosts to us, the visiting
team.

but was fouled so a free kick was given. This was taken by Gemma
who shot the ball towards Leah Grafton. Amy Nash received the ball from
Leah and kicked the ball up towards Tegan who took a shot at goal but
Enfield knocked the ball off pitch. Amy took the throw in but an Enfield
player intercepted, Amy proceeded to tackle the player and won the ball

Enfield and went towards the Tottenham goal area. Enfield took a

corner. The corner was taken, but Leah cleared the ball up towards
Hannah Grafton, who passed the ball to Gemma. Taking the ball into
the Enfield goal area, Gemma passed to Tila Lawton, who had made herself
available. Tila then took a shot at goal and scored a fantastic first

The Enfield keeper kicked
the ball down pitch but Tegan was on the wing to sweep the ball up and
head back towards the goal area passing to Tila. Tila took a shot at
goal but the Enfield keeper cleared it. Enfield was given a free kick
near the Spurs goal area and took the opportunity to take a shot at
goal. Kelsey saved the ball and passed to Leah who safely cleared the
ball away. Enfield attempted to go back to the goal area but Hannah
blocked them and passed to Tila. Tila went towards the goal area but
Enfield knocked the ball off pitch. Gemma took the throw in and passed
to Tegan up the wing. Tegan entered the Enfield goal area and aimed a
powerful shot towards the goal. Tegan scored making it 2-0 to
Tottenham.
A substitution was made,

The Spurs Ladies Under-10 Blues game
against QPR started off with Tila Lawton in the centre with Gemma
Biggadike. Positioned in goal for her very first time was Tegan
Burling. After the whistle blew QPR went straight for the ball and
took possession trying to take it out of their goal area, Kelsey Smith
intervened and had a shot at goal. The QPR keeper saved and kicked
the ball down pitch towards the Spurs goal area. Leah Grafton was
guarding the box and did not make it easy for QPR to have a shot and
when they had an attempt, Amy Nash was there to stop the ball, passing
safely to Hannah Grafton, who passed the ball on to Tila Lawton.
Tila took the ball up pitch with the help of Gemma and Hannah followed
to give additional support.
QPR gained a free kick and from this
took a shot at goal to which Tegan made a heart stopping save. The blues
then misfortunately hand-balled the ball giving QPR a penalty shot.
Tegan tried to save the shot with massive effort but the QPR penalty
taker was on target and scored. 1-0 to QPR.
A goal kick was taken by Hannah, who
got the ball through to Kelsey, who passed to Amy on the wing. Amy
took the ball and made a great pass to Tila, but unfortunately QPR
intervened and took the ball back down pitch. They took a shot,
but Tegan would not let it in her goal. At this point a
substitution was made as Kelsey came off and Kunbi Soleye came on.
Gemma took a corner and found Amy, who
went for the goal, but the keeper saved. The ball went towards the Spurs
goal area and QPR got a corner kick. Their aim was good but Kunbi
was there to clear the ball. QPR came back with extra pressure, but
Tegan was still solid in goal to save any shots.
Half time 1-0 QPR
The second half Kunbi took her
position in goal and QPR had the ball in centre. They went
straight for the goal area, but Amy showed great defending with Kelsey
making herself available for her. QPR regained possession and took
a shot, but Kunbi made a great save. Gemma got the ball to safety,
passing to Kelsey, who passed out to Tegan. The Blues gained a corner
kick which Gemma took knocking the ball to Leah, who took a shot, but
the keeper saved. Hannah intercepted the keeper's pass and shot again,
but the keeper again saved.
Once QPR had possession of the ball,
the Blues showed us some great tackling. Gemma, Tegan and Leah all had
goes at winning the ball back. Unfortunately, after one of these really
good tackles, Leah’s ankle was badly injured. Leah was taken off to rest
and Tila was brought on in her place. QPR hand-balled the ball and
gave the Blues a free kick. Gemma took the kick, but QPR gained
possession and took the ball up to the Spurs goal area. Rangers
were intent on scoring a goal even taking two shots at goal, but Kunbi
and Hannah made it impossible for them pass and kept the score at 1-0.
The final whistle blew.
Player of the match went to Hannah for
her brilliant defending and always being available when her team mates
needed her help clearing the ball to safety.
This may be a loss for the Blues, but
they played a fantastic game and in no way made the QPR win easy.
They should all be very proud of their performance as this was a very
hard side to play. Good game girls.

The
Spurs Ladies Under-10 Blues game against Denham United started off with
Alliyah Mcdonnell in goal and Tegan Burling in centre with Kelsey Smith.
Denham were immediately on the attack taking possession of the ball into
the spurs box. Unlucky for them Amy Nash was on the case taking back the
ball and passing to Hannah Grafton who kicked the ball safely away.
Denham gave the Blues a free kick which was taken by Gemma Biggadike who
shot for goal but Denham saved.
The
pressure was on with Denham on the Blues at every step. They earned a
corner kick but Amy swiftly got the ball away to Ebony Eldridge who had
an excellent run up pitch, passing to Kelsey who took a shot at goal but
Denham saved. Shortly after, Denham granted the blues a throw in
taken by Gemma, but Denham took possession and had a shot at goal.
Alliyah making a great save kept the score at 0-0.
After
the ball was kicked out of the goal area Tegan took the ball up the
pitch making it to the Denham goal area, but was taken down. The
Blues were granted a penalty, which Gemma stepped up to take.
Unfortunately, her aim was slightly high and it went over the crossbar.
Denham’s goal kick was stolen away by Hannah, who kicked a high ball
which got hand balled by the opposition.
Free
kick to the Blues. Taking this was Gemma who was not going to miss
a second shot. Her kick moved the ball to the direction of the net
and did not stop until it reached the back. The Blues official first
goal and what a goal it was.
Denham’s goal kick took the ball back down to the Spurs goal area, Amy
picked it up passing to Hannah who had Tegan helping her along the wing.
The Blues got a throw in which Leah Grafton took. Denham gained
possession and took a shot at goal. Alliyah saved and passed out
to Leah who took the ball up pitch, her pass was intervened by Denham
who played a high shot to a fellow team mate. Unfortunately the
shot went directly into Amy’s face. A nasty injury, her coaches
immediately called her off pitch to check her condition. A minute
later and half time was called. 1-0 to the Blues.
The
second half started with Amy showing her strength and determination by
coming straight back onto the pitch. A Tottenham win was in sight
and she was not about to sit out. Ebony took the place of
goalkeeper. From the blow of the whistle Gemma played a great pass
across the goal to Tegan. Wanting to know how scoring felt, Tegan
took her shot. What a fantastic second goal for the Blues thanks
to our captain. Nicely taken.
The
blues were unstoppable. Every opportunity Denham got the ball,
Kelsey made a tackle and passed back to her team mates. Leah was
on the end of one of these passes, taking a cracking shot at goal but it
was unfortunately saved. The Denham goalkeeper kicked the ball
down pitch, but it was picked up by Tila Lawton. Taking no
prisoners, Tila took the ball all the way up pitch and had her own shot
at goal, but the Denham keeper saved it well. This did not deter
the Blues. Denham tried getting the ball back out of the goal
area, but Tila would not let them pass and had another attempt at goal.
Learning from this the Denham keeper kicked the ball down pitch toward
the Spurs box, Denham took a shot at goal but Ebony made a great save.
Passing to Alliyah who kicked the ball towards Amy. Seeing a
clearing up the pitch Amy took a shot from the centre line.
Unfortunately Denham’s keeper stopped the ball. Denham tried to take the
ball down to the goal area, but Alliyah was guarding the box not letting
anyone past her. Soon the final whistle blew.
The
score 2-0 to The Blues.
Player
of the match went to Gemma, who maintained a brilliant performance
throughout the game, with fantastic corners, throw ins and of course the
first Blues goal.
This
was a first win for the blues and let it be the first of many.
Every player should be proud of their individual performances and team
work. A fantastic game, a fantastic win. Well done Blues.

The game started with the
Under-10 Blues showing off their passing skills. Gemma Biggadike
had a shot, after
a passing play from the back, which was saved by the Harvesters goal
keeper. After winning the ball back Gemma skipped the ball past a couple
of players and passed to Kelsey Smith, who took a shot at goal but again
the Harvesters keeper saved.
Aimee showed great
defending by managing to take the ball from one end of the pitch to the
other with Tegan Burling helping her on the wing with some great
attacking. Gemma and Leah Grafton made themselves available to
keep the ball in Tottenham possession.
The Harvesters managed to
win the ball and take some shots but Ebony Eldridge was on the mark in
goal, making some fantastic saves.
Half Time 0-0
The second half started
with Hannah Grafton going on as goalkeeper. The Blues were forced to
attack hard as the Harvesters were putting the pressure on. It was
not long before Harvesters scored a goal against the Blues. They then
tried for second goal, but it was stopped with a great save by Hannah,
who passed the ball out to Aimee and Kunbi Soleye. With their strong
defence they got the ball out of the goal area over to Gemma who had a
great run up the pitch, until she was fouled by the Harvesters. Taking
the free kick Gemma took a blinding shot at the goal in true Beckham
style but unfortunately the Harvesters saved.
Tegan and Alliyah
McDonnell kept up the team memento by winning the ball back at every
opportunity with some excellent tackling which resulted in some great
plays by Kelsey and Gemma. The blues were unlucky not to score.
The harvesters continued
to apply pressure on the Blues, but Tila Lawton kept them at bay with
her defending and Tegan took possession of the ball and went on the full
attack. The team battled out to the end maintaining around 70%
possession of the ball.
The whistle blew calling
full time and left a score of 1-0 to the Harvesters.
Man of the match went to
the team captain Tegan Burling for her great attacking along the wing.
Even though the girls
didn’t win they played an excellent game and showed massive potential
for the rest of the season. They should all be very proud.

The Spurs Ladies Under-10
Blues put in another good performance against a battling Hampstead side.
The blues had most of the possession and there were some very good
passing amongst the girls, but unfortunatly we could not find the back
of the net.
Hampstead only had a few
attacks but unfortunately they proved decisive as they ran out 2-0
winners.
Player of the match
Kelsey Smith had a very good game, she was constantly battling and
taking on players down the right wing and even had a couple of chances
to score.
As I keep saying the team
are improving every week and I'm sure once we get our first win, there
will be no stopping us !!

It was a
very warm and sunny September afternoon as the Spurs Ladies Under-10
Blues opened their league season against club-mates the Under-10 Whites
at Fred Knights. This was a special game for the girls not only
were playing against the Under-10 Whites, it was their girls very first
game for the club and also a debut for the management team !
The game
started brightly for the Blues with some good passing. The Whites soon
started applying pressure towards our goal, but lucky for us Ebony
Eldridge made some quality saves to keep the game level at 0-0.
Again the Whites were on the attack and after a through ball, their
striker ran through to make it 1-0. A quick second goal followed,
but that did not stop the determination of the Under-10 Blues.
Hannah
Grafton made some good tackles at the back. Captain Tegan Burling made a
great run down the left skipping past a couple of players but
unfortunately we didn't score. A well worked corner between Leah
Grafton and Tegan Burling resulted in a shot which was well saved by the
Whites keeper.
HALF TIME
2-0
The second
half started with a couple of changes: Tila Lawton replaced Ebony
Eldridge in goal and Alliyah McDonnell came on in midfield.
The girls
started the second half how they finished the first strong and
determined. Kunbi Soleye was solid at the back along side Hannah, who
was sweeping up any loose balls.
After
playing the first half in goal, Ebony was fully of energy and was
causing some trouble in the opposing box. Tila made some good saves in
goal to keep the score at 2-0.
Alliyah was
making some fantastic runs, but unfortunately we just couldn't score,
with only a few minutes left the Whites went on the attack and managed
to squeeze another goal making the final score 3-0.
We may have
lost 3-0 today, but the girls should all be very proud of themselves.
They all put in 100% effort and never stopped running until the final
whistle. This is a brand new team who have fantastic potential and
I am confident that as the season goes on we will grow into a fantastic
team who will be a force to be reckoned with !!!!!
Once again -
well done girls !
Player of
the match: Ebony Eldridge - Great saves in the first half
and full of energy and running in the second half.
