The Under 10 Whites secured a 6-0 away victory on Saturday against our old friends from Garston.

The 6-0 score-line sounds a comprehensive victory on paper, but Spurs were made to fight throughout the game by a spirited Garston side.  Although, Spurs were three up at the break through goals through Tia Fogarty (2) and Emma Lee, it was Spurs keeper Kitty Chapman who pulled off three superb saves to keep her ninth league clean sheet of the season.

Spurs settled more in the second half and looked more in control with a slightly changed formation. Tia Fogarty bagged another two goals with the other coming from Isabella Rueben-Crompton.

Thanks for the team at Garston for getting the game on, their sporting behaviour as always and also to the Garston referee who supplied the Spurs girls with apples and satsumas at half time.  It always puts your faith back in football when football is like this.

The Under 10 Whites lost their 100% league record when they were held 0-0 against top of the table Tottenham Hotspur Under 10 Blues on Saturday.

Against a well worked game plan from the Under 10 Blues, the Under 10 Whites were unable to break down a resolute Blues defence.  The Under 10 Whites also need to be on their toes with the sharp breaks from the Blues.

The U10 Whites defence held strong again to record their 10th clean sheet in a row in the league.

Natasha Smits was the Spurs player of the match for her battling defensive play.

A good hard fought game for the U10 Whites against their fellow club mates leaves both club's sides holding the top two positions in the HCGFL, perhaps a first for the league.

Chairman's Cup Final
Played at the Vauxhall Recreation Club, Luton

A closely fought and tense match saw a single goal settle it in the favour for Tottenham Hotspur Under-10 Whites, who retain the trophy for the club after last season's win by the then Under-10 Blues.

While last season was an all Tottenham affair, this time around, the girls travelled to Luton to face a good Town side, in what was a match that saw both sides try to play football the way it should be played.

In bright sunshine, the teams got into their stride quickly, with some good passing moves, but the finish was lacking.  Emma Lee was driving Tottenham on from midfield, while Jenny Hunnable and Natasha Smits were showing their defensive qualities in keeping the Luton striker at bay.  With Hannah Fenton-Burgess always a threat up front, Tia Fogerty worked hard to link with her strike partner.

It was just after the first substitutions that Tottenham took the lead, with a loose ball in the Luton area being driven into the net by Isabella Reuben-Crompton on ten minutes.  This gave Tottenham the impetus to press forward and Emma had a long range shot well saved, but 14 minutes into the game the pacy Luton number 10 broke through, but was confronted with Kitty Chapman racing out of her goal and this was enough to force her to take an early shot that went wide of the goal.

With the play being condensed in the midfield, it was another five minutes before a further effort on goal arose and it came after some good passing when Hannah set up Emma to let go a shot that brought a low save from the keeper.  The half finished with Izzie fizzing a shot across the face of goal that just eluded the Spurs forwards.

The second half was a much more frenetic matter.  Both teams were battling away to gain a foothold in the other's half, with the play being hurried and Georgia Sanders played her part in adding some determined tackling in midfield, with Evie Rose given the task of shackling the Luton striker.  Chances were few and far between, with Emma, Hannah and Izzie linking well to produce an opening, but the shot ended just going wide.  The Whites proud record of not conceding a goal so far this season was one that they were set on keeping and it was only near the end as Luton pushed for an equaliser that they had a shot from long range that ended up going wide.

The final minutes of the final were played out in midfield, with Spurs resolute in midfield and with all the players working hard to defend their lead.  When the whistle blew for the end of the game, the girls leapt with joy but were quick to congratulate Luton for the full part they played in the game, which was always in good spirit and was a credit to both clubs.

The Under 10 Whites kept up the pressure at the top of the league with a very good win over a tenacious Stotfold side that gave Spurs plenty of problems.

Tia Fogarty opened the scoring after for minutes when she finished well after good build up play and the hard working Hannah Fenton-Burgess was rewarded with two goals in the closing four minutes following a period of Spurs pressure.

The Spurs defence were again excellent throughout with new signing Tayla Humm putting in a solid performance at right back and Jenny Hunnable showing a cool head at all times.

A five star performance by the Under-10 Whites held off a spirited effort from Watford Ladies in this game at Fred Knights.

Taking the honours was Hannah Fenton-Burgess, who scored four goals, but it was the defence of Natasha Smits, Tayla Humm, Jenny Hunnable and goalkeeper Kitty Chapman who recorded their 12th clean sheet of the season.

Much of the game was played in the Watford half, but when their pacy striker did break away, one of the defenders was there to thwart the attacks, while Kitty did not have a lot to do, but did it all very well.

From the first minute when Hannah fizzed a shot across the Watford goalmouth to Tia Fogarty, who hit the side-netting, it was the fluent Spurs side who moved the ball well to get forward.  Fenton-Burgess opened the scoring in the fifth minute, when Emma Lee's vision picked out the striker's run with her pass to the left and Hannah hit a low shot that beat the keeper.

Emma had a good chance herself, when she received the ball by intercepting a goal-kick and returned the ball goal-wards, but missed by two feet.  Fifteen minutes into the half, Hannah doubled the lead with another firm drive and the 2-0 score-line was preserved by the Watford keeper, when she made a good save and then Emma shot the loose ball just wide.

Everything seemed to involve Hannah and a neat drag-back created some space and she dragged her shot across goal and just before the break, she was denied in front of goal as the keeper kicked the ball away, just as she was about to shoot.

After the break, Spurs still went forward seeking more goal and to keep the ball as far away from their goal as they could.  Izzie Rueben-Crompton took the ball round a player and played it inside to Tia Fogarty, who managed to squeeze her shot past two players and into the net to make it 3-0 with 11 minutes of the second half gone.

Hannah and Tia both hit other chances wide, but it was action at the other end which lead to the next goal.  Kitty had to be on her toes to deny a Watford shot by diving to block the ball, which was cleared by Georgia Sanders, who had a busy game in midfield, out to release Hannah, who won her one-on-one duel to make it 4-0 after 17 minutes to seal her hat-trick.

With Tayla and Jenny nicking the ball off the toes of the Watford players in defence, Natasha joined the attack and although the chances that fell her way were well-blocked by the Hornets defence, she was aware enough to square the ball to Hannah on the edge of the area.  The striker coolly converted to give manager Glenn Weaver a birthday treat with this 5-0 win against a Watford team who played a full part in the match with great sportsmanship and endeavour.

With a massive backlog of fixtures, the U10 Whites meet Enfield Town in the league under floodlights at the New River Sports Centre on Thursday evening.

With a crowd of nearly 100 watching, both sides put on some smashing football on the 3G surface.  However, Spurs were the more dominant force going forward and put the game out of Enfield’s reach through goals from Tia Fogarty, Hannah Fenton Burgess, Isabella Rueben-Crompton and two from captain Emma Lee to seal a 5-0 victory.

Home Counties Girl's Football League Cup - Round 1
Having played in the league less than 48 hours before, the U10 Whites meet Enfield Town again for a place in the last eight of the Home Counties Girl's Football League Cup.

Enfield were out the blocks from the start and put Spurs under more pressure than other side since the early stages of the season.  However, the Spurs defence that included Tayla Humm, Tasha Smits and Jenny Hunnable held strong.

In a game of few chances, one magic moment from Hannah Fenton-Burgess turned the game.  From a ball from the left from Isabella Rueben-Crompton, Hannah produced a quick turn and rifled the ball past the Enfield keeper.

Both games were played in a good spirit and well refereed.

The Under 10 Whites kept the pressure up the U10 Blues in the race for the Under 10 league championship on Saturday with a 4-0 victory away at Hitchin Town Belles.

Spurs were pushed hard in the first half by a very hard working Hitchin side and went into the break 1-0 through a goal from Hanna Fenton Burgess.

In the second half, Spurs got more into their stride and Tia Fogarty was back to some sparkling form with a well taken hat-trick.

The Spurs defence continues to be in sparkling form with the combination of Tasha Smits and Jenny Hunnable in great form in preserving clean sheets throughout this season so far.

A injury time goal from Hannah Fenton-Burgess helped Spurs to a narrow 1-0 victory against Denham Ladies in the HCGFL on Saturday.

Spurs spent much of the game in the Denham half, but were unable to break down their determined and resilient defence and were thwarted by a superb display by an excellent goalkeeper until that final minute.

Manager Glenn Weaver said “Denham put a brave performance and can count them selves unlucky in not grabbing a hard earned draw.  We will need to work hard in breaking teams down in the last two months of the season and can expect every game to be a mini Cup final.”

The Under 10 Whites were in sparking goal-scoring form on Saturday when Hatfield Youth were on the wrong end of a 13-0 Spurs victory in the HCGFL.

Forwards Tia Fogarty and Hannah Fenton-Burgess were in fine form with five goals each ably supported by Jenny Hunnable (2) and captain Emma Lee.

Manager Glenn Weaver said, “The team played some great football and maintained this throughout the game. It was pleasing to see Hannah and Tia back in sparkling form coming into the closing weeks of the season.”
