Spurs U11 Blues
kicked off their new campaign with a home friendly against the Barking
league champions.
Tottenham started
slowly and after five minutes shook off the ring rustiness and popped in
two quick goals, but then Barking pulled one back and tried to make a
game of it. Spurs took the initiative and went into the break 3-1
up.
Half time saw a
change of tactics and Spurs began to play the way that saw them take a
treble last season. Eight more well taken goals and a complete
battering of the woodwork saw the home outfit finish off a superb
display of controlled football.
The
Barking keeper had a good game
despite the score-line, saving her side further blushes.
Debutants Georgia
Miller and Jemma McCarthy showed superb qualities, with Chloe Smith
tormenting the visiting defence. Captain Phoebe Guiver and Louisa
Fox gave an excellent display in midfield and Kayla Miles and Lauren
Holman helping out from the Whites, both gave solid performances.
The goals came from
Georgia Miller 5, Louisa Fox 3, Chloe Smith, Jemma McCarthy and Phoebe
Guiver.

Spurs travelled to
Denham for their last pre season warm up and warm up they certainly did.
With a superb passing
display, Spurs dominated the play and showed some excellent movement and
build up play, which left a bewildered home side with a few headaches.
Scorers were Chloe
Smith 6, Georgia Miller 4, Phoebe Guiver 2 and Louisa Fox 1. With
debutant Loren Humphreys and Keegan Russell excellent in defence and
with Naomi Coulson called upon to make two fine saves, Spurs capped off
a fine performance.

Spurs began the defence of their League
championship with a visit to Hitchin Town Belles.
With the home side committed to
defending, Spurs had to be patient. Ten minutes had elapsed before
the Champions finally opened the floodgates. Spurs passing game
was too much for a dogged Hitchin side and once the halfway mark came,
Spurs found themselves ten nil ahead.
The second period was played in the same
style, with another eight goals being added as Tottenham pressed home
their advantage. Three players were making their full league debut
for Spurs today - Georgia Miller who fired home seven goals, Jemma
McCarthy who was dominant in defence also adding to the goal tally and
the newest member Loren Humphreys who showed some very good qualities
and also grabbed her first goal for Spurs.
Tottenham's other goals were netted by
captain Phoebe Guiver and striker Chloe Smith who helped herself to
seven goals.

Spurs Under-11 Blues entertained Denham
Wildcats today at Fred Knights in their second League game of the
season.
With only 20 seconds gone Spurs netted
the first of eleven goals. The girls showed some good movement,
but slowed the pace a little despite being 3-0 ahead in the first half.
Denham had a few good chances, but were denied any goals by the Blues
strong defence with Naomi Coulson only being called upon once to mop up
a stray ball. The second half begun
with the Blues upping the pace and playing some excellent football.
Eight more goals were added to the scoresheet before the final whistle
blew making this a 26th consecutive win for the girls.
Goals for Spurs were scored by Chloe
Smith 4, Georgia Miller 3, skipper Phoebe Guiver 2 and Louisa Fox 2,
with Jemma McCarthy and Loren Humphreys excellent in defence and as
always Naomi Coulson solid in goal.

Spurs entertained Harvesters at Frederick
Knights today in the HCGFL, having another goal scoring spree netting
eight goals in their third game of the season.
Despite feeling a little let down by last
weekend's postponed game, they were really up for this week's match and
didn't disappoint. The girls played some super football
today, passing the ball around with ease and putting in some very strong
tackles that shook their opposition.
The Harvesters keeper gave a good display
in goal despite the score-line which could have easily been doubled, but
in the end Tottenham's dominance proved to be too strong.
Loren Humphreys and Jemma McCarthy put in
some great challenges and once again were solid in defence, while Naomi
Coulson, who had only seen limited action, was called upon to make a
couple of fine saves that showed her superb handling abilities that
instils great confidence in this determined team.
Four goals from Chloe Smith two from
skipper Phoebe Guiver and one each from Lulu Fox and Georgia Miller.
Well done girls another good win.

Spurs travelled to Redbourn today and came
up against a very resilient Harpenden side.
Spurs opened up the scoring within the first
two minutes, but Harpenden were not going to make it easy for the Blues.
The Spurs girls put in some good challenges and connected well, which
rewarded them with another three goals before the half time whistle
blew.
In the second half the home team began
very defensively and it was difficult for Spurs to break them down,
however the visitors played a patient passing game to draw the defence
out and after ten minutes got their fifth goal of the day.
Spurs played well today and had some good
chances on a difficult pitch, but the ball just crept over the bar or
went a fraction wide to stop them from potentially doubling the score.
The home team broke away a few times, but
any chances they had were thwarted by the safe hands of our number 1
Naomi Coulson and the strong line of defence that was Jemma McCarthy and
Loren Humphreys.
Harpenden got stuck in well today and
gave Spurs a good game and with their keeper on top form look set to be
a good team.
The goals for Spurs today were scored by
Lulu Fox 2, skipper Phoebe Guiver, Georgia Miller and Chloe Smith.
Today was Spurs 30th consecutive win.
Well done girls.

Spurs played a keen Watford side today at
Frederick Knights this morning and put in a performance that had the
watching crowd purring. The first
half was played at a slow pace and it took the Blues a good ten minutes
to warm up, although they did dominate the run of play. It was an
unfortunate own goal from Watford that really got the girls stirred up
and gave them the boost they needed.
After some fine build-up play and some
shaving of the woodwork, Spurs began to assert their dominance and four
minutes later another goal was added.
The second half started with the Blues
dominating although Watford did have some fine chances and to their
credit, were giving Spurs a good competitive game with some solid
team-work.
Spurs knocked the ball around confidently
and put in some good challenges along with more striking of the goal
posts before adding two more goals. The Watford keeper was
excellent today in making some amazing saves and she was a great credit
to her team.
Loren Humphreys and Jemma McCarthy were
supreme today in defence and although Watford pressed more in the second
half, the two girls coped excellently. The midfield of Phoebe
Guiver and Lulu Fox both put in solid performances interchanging well
with Chloe Smith and Georgia Miller up front, who also both performed
well. Carly Mackey made her debut today and displayed some
very fine qualities, even though she was played out of her normal
position and in goal, she showed how versatile she could be.
The Spurs goals today were from Chloe
Smith 2, captain Phoebe Guiver and a Watford own goal.
Well done girls keep up the good work.

Two Lulu Fox goals saw off QPR Under-11s as
the Spurs Blues maintained top spot in the League with a narrow in over
a keen Rangers side. Despite giving
a very below par performance, the girls managed to create chances and
Lulu's finishing was the difference between the teams as Tottenham
went on to win 2-1.
They will have to pick up their game to
make sure they do not slip up in the coming weeks and perhaps this match
will serve as a reminder that they have to keep playing to the high
standards they have set themselves.
