With only seven girls available the Tottenham Under 11s Whites side knew they could be in for a tough game with no respite on the sidelines.  From the off Denham came at the Spurs side and looked liked they might take control of the game as the Whites struggled to find their shape. However, it didn’t the girls long to catch up with themselves and a move on the break between Ronnell Hume and Immy Lancaster saw Ronnell’s shot hit the back of the net three minutes in.

However the Denham side weren’t going to let the Tottenham side have it all their own way and in the eighth minute forced a save at full stretch from stand in goal keeper Emily Tibbs.  Although Emily didn’t have a lot to do throughout the game her contribution was crucial, including her save from the foot of a Denham striker who had broken through the Tottenham defence and faced Emily in a one on one situation that saw Emily come out of on top in the last minute of the first half.

The Whites continued to pressure Denham when they returned to the pitch and as Denham held out it was beginning to look as if one goal might have to be enough until Kally Ann Westgarth got on the end of an Immy Lancaster pass and blasted the ball in for the second.

Captain Flo Donald joined the defensive ranks with Joely Harris-Tharp for the day and they both had their work cut out trying to keep out the Denham numbers 11 and 8 who kept the pressure on.  Their hard work alongside the keeping of Emily Tibbs saw the Spurs side keep their fourth clean sheet in a row.

Sixteen minutes into the second half Ronell Humes finished off a great passing move between herself, Immy Lancaster and Kally Ann Westgarth to see her get a brace.

Feeling confident being three up the girls really started to fly and on the 21st minute an inch perfect pass from Izzy Lewis who had worked tirelessly up and down the right wing saw Immy Lancaster hit the first of three in a six minute flurry that gave Immy her third hat trick of the season and the Spurs side a 6-0 victory.

Player of the match was chosen by injured keeper Elianne Mahay Goodrich, who turned out to add her vocal support to her team mates and with no hesitation selected Immy Lancaster for “scoring a hat trick in six minutes.”

The THLFC Under-11 Whites came out of the blocks on the attack from the off against their club-mates the Blues.

A move from the kick off between Immy Lancaster and Ronell Humes which fed through for Captain Flo Donald to shoot was pushed wide by the Blues keeper and nearly saw the Whites go one up in the first minute.  However the Whites didn’t have long to wait as striker Ronell Humes could not be contained and had scored a brace before the fourth minute had passed.

As the game settled down the blues started to put pressure on the Whites but found it hard to break through a solid midfield line up that saw Joely Harris Tharp moving up from defence into a central midfield position looking strong and enjoying pushing forward and even coming close to scoring.  The midfield line up started with Captain Flo Donald left of Joely and Emily Tibbs right, with Izzy Lewis joining on the right and Emily Tibbs moving into the centre.

Ronell Humes and Immy Lancaster pushed forward challenging the Blues defence and Rosie Johnson came on for Ronell and kept the pressure on, but their efforts were kept out for the remainder of the half.

In the second half Izzy Lewis dominated the right wing and after coming close on several occasions finally slotted home seven minutes in, her shot finding its way into the right hand corner and earning her the player of the match and her first goal of the season.  Izzy was tireless in her efforts which saw her supporting the strikers and tracking back and shoring up the midfield and the defence.

Carlota played a blinder all match sticking like a shadow to the Blues lone striker and making sure that she was frustrated and could not get into the game.  Anything that Carlota did not clear was mopped up by Joely Harris Tharp.

Elianne Mayhay-Goodrich was solid in goal and made sure that the last line of defence could not be breeched.  Elianne had struggled through the match having injured a finger in the warm up and feeling some strain in her quads, with less than 10 minutes to go Elianne was unable to continue and Emily Tibbs put the gloves on.  With five minutes left a Blues player was fouled in the box and Emily found herself facing a one on one situation when the referee awarded a penalty.  However, Emily stood her ground and saved the shot keeping the sheet clean for the Whites and earning her the respect of the team, who carried her off the pitch as the hero at the end of the game.

Five weeks with no football saw both teams hungry for a game.  Hampstead came at the Spurs side from the off putting the Tottenham goal under pressure.  The defence led by Carlota Franques and Joely Harris Tharp, supported by the midfield, held out.  It took the Tottenham girls about ten minutes to really break out of their area and start challenging Hampstead, but they proved a tough nut to crack.

The heavy pitch made the passing difficult and hard to really get the game moving smoothly.  However that didn’t stop the girls from trying and didn’t affect some accurate long range passes from one side of the pitch to the other from Immy Lancaster and Kally Ann Westgarth which showed great vision.

Izzy Lewis had a great shot on target that stung the fingers of the Hampstead keeper but nothing would go in.  Ronell Humes and Immy Lancaster both floated some perfect crosses in from the sides both from corners and runs down the line and as the second half progressed it felt that something had to come from one of them but unfortunately that wasn’t to be that case.

Rosie Johnson made her presence felt up front but found it hard going dragging the ball through the muddy goalmouth.

Carlota Franques showed how much she continued to develop as a player when she got past one Hampstead player and ran the length of the pitch beating the entire Hampstead defence to force a corner.

Emily Tibbs worked hard on the right and in the second half came back to take up a defensive position. Captain Flo Donald was a Trojan in central midfield both coming back to protect the defence and pushing up with an eye for a goal.

Tottenham controlled the second half and as the game progressed were dominate, however Hampstead were determined and proved strong physical opponents whose defence could not be broken.

Hampstead also had their moments in attack and goal keeper Elianne Mahay-Goodrich had a busy game and won the player of the match trophy for her solid keeping which ensured that the Spurs side game away with a clean and started off the new year putting another point on the board.

A week off did not break the flow in the Tottenham Hotspur Under 11 Whites winning ways and the side hit their highest goal tally as they broke into double digits putting 10 past a dazed Enfield Town B side.

The Whites went on the attack from the off and captain Flo Donald opened the scoring in the first minute, getting on the score sheet for the fifth game in a row.  The day saw two hat trick heroes, Immy Lancaster who actually went on to score a fourth and Ronnell Humes, with both girls starting their goal tally hot on the heels of Flo’s opener.

After the initial blitz the Enfield side were able to gain some control until the Tottenham side were livened up by the entry of substitutes Rosie Johnson and Emily Tibbs into the game.  Emily in her favourite position on the right ran at the opposition and Rosie soon found herself with the opportunity to put the Spurs side four up.

The fifth and sixth goals soon followed with strikes from Ronnell Humes and Immy Lancaster to give them each a brace. On the stroke of half time Kally Ann Westgarth’s hard work paid dividends and the Tottenham side left the field seven goals up.

The girls were keen to break the pattern of the last two matches which saw them making less impact during the second half and Ronnell Humes went straight for the goal slotting home to make it eight. The Enfield side did not give up and there was strong defending from the defensive duo of Carlota Franques and Joely Harris-Tharp. Joely had a particularly impressive game making some excellent clearances and using her long kick to push the game up the pitch and to earn her the player of the match award.

Keeper Elianne Mahay-Goodrich pulled off a great save with 10 minutes to go ensuring that the Whites kept a clean sheet. With eight minutes to go Immy Lancaster struck home her third and within a minute had scored her fourth surpassing her previous record of three and making it ten and passing the previous highest score of nine nil against Whetstone back in October.

The Spurs Ladies Under 11 Whites were just as shocked to find themselves 3-0 up at half time against the defensive Harvesters, as they were to find themselves pegged back to 3-2 with three minutes left on the clock.

The Spurs side started brightly expecting that they would have to work hard to put a goal past the Harvesters defence. However, three minutes into the game Immy Lancaster scored a strange goal that seemed to curve behind the back of the Harvesters keeper and had onlookers believe that the ball had gone into the side netting.

Two minutes later captain Flo Donald scored for the fourth week on the trot getting on the end of an Izzy Lewis’s long throw in special as Immy had for the first goal. Two goals two assists for Izzy Lewis.

The third goal came from Rosie Johnson in the twelfth minute and was a Rosie classic.  Rosie got on the end of an up field clearance, controlling the ball well and holding off the Harvesters defence and slipping the ball into the right hand corner beyond the keeper.

For the rest of the first half Kally Ann Westgarth and Ronnell Humes worked well together to harass Harvesters. Their passing was inspired though unfortunately did not manage to breech the Harvesters defence and add to the score line.

Tottenham took to the pitch confidently in the second half and were keen to get the game restarted; however Harvesters came back on with determination and began to push the Spurs side back. The defensive partnership of Joely Harris-Tharp and Carlota Franques took the pressure well and Elianne Mahay-Goodrich was confident in goal, but eventually in the 12th minute of the second half Harvesters managed to slip a goal past the Spurs defence in.

Any Tottenham attacks were thwarted by Harvesters who taking inspiration from their goal continued to push forward with support from the home crowd. Carlota Franques player of the match chased down every ball but in the 22nd minute Harvesters again found the net and gave the Tottenham contingent a nervous end to the match and a great feeling of relief when the final whistle blew and the girls had bagged another three points ensuring they maintained the top spot.

All Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Under-11 Whites’s goals came in the first half of the game against St. Albans City Youth, with Rosie Johnson opening the scoring.  Rosie picked up on an inch perfect cross from Kally Ann Westgarth, then breaking away from her marker Rosie kept her composure and struck home.

Five minutes later captain Flo Donald scored for the third week on the trot this time using her feet.  Flo picked up the ball on the edge of the box as it ricocheted from shots by Kally Ann Westgarth and Ronnell Hume and firmly shot on target.

The third goal came on 16 minutes when Immy Lancaster got on the end of a cross along the box from Flo Donald and slide the ball past the keeper into the corner.  The fourth goal was an unfortunate own goal that was forced by Immy Lancaster and Ronnell Humes whose excellent 1-2 passing eventually forced the St. Albans defence to make an error.

St. Albans put up a strong defence in the second half and could not be broken down even though there were several shots on target including a shot from Ronnell Hume that hit the bar.  St. Albans started to push forward but could not get past the Tottenham defence which was characterised by some fantastic teamwork between Carlota Franques, Emily Tibbs, Izzy Lewis and Flo Donald who worked actively to support each other and when a St. Albans player got past either of them there was always another to take up the defence.

The goal was kept in the first half by Emily Tibbs who saw little action but was solid work whenever the ball did come her way.  Joely Harris-Tharp stood in as keeper in the second half and dealt well with any attacks and made a good save towards the end of the game to make sure the Tottenham side went home with a clean sheet.

Flo Donald was named player of the match contributing to the attack and defence and working on her own initiative to cover the forward runs made by Carlota Franques in the early part of the game.

The Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U11 Whites machine rolled on to Denham United, where they produced another victory.

From the off the girls pushed forward attacking the Denham goal with Ronnell Humes coming close to scoring in the second minute with a great shot from 15 yards just going wide.  However, it didn’t take Ronnell long to hit the target and in the sixth minute her shot put the Spurs side one goal ahead.

Denham managed to keep out Spurs for the rest of the half though Spurs were not without opportunities, the closest coming from player of the match Kally Ann Westgarth when her 30 yard shot skimmed the crossbar.

Defensive duo Carlota Franques and Joely Harris-Tharp were challenged by the Denham forwards, but, as ever, Carlota chased the attackers down and Joely mopped up as the last defender back.

The game continued to look like it could go either way until 10 minutes into the second when Emily Tibbs got on the end of a pass from Kally Ann Westgarth, coolly running through several Denham defenders Emily confidently slotted home.

One minute later Kally Ann got in on the act herself and got on the end of a brilliant cross from Rosie Johnson who held the ball up by the corner flag before finding her way through the Denham defence and picking out Kally Ann who took her opportunity to put the Whites in the comfortable position of going three up.

The goal blitz continued when captain Flo Donald who had bravely continued after a crunching first half challenge scored with her head for the second week running, picking up on a cross from Izzy Beaumont who was dominant the right wing.

Goalkeeper Elianne Mahay-Goodrich put in an impressive performance and made some fine reactive saves off the line to give Spurs a clean sheet.

The game was completed as it started with top goal scorer Ronnell Humes scoring the fifth goal of the game and her ninth of the season and giving the Tottenham U11 Whites their seventh victory in a row.

Although a convincing win for the Spurs Ladies Under-11 Whites, the match against Enfield Town B was very much a game of two halves with Tottenham controlling the first and the visitors fighting back in the second before finally ran out of steam.

Tottenham scored five of their goals in the first half with captain Flo Donald opening the scoring with a fine header on four minutes.  Three minutes later Ronnell Hume broke away on the right and received the ball from some fine passing between Flo Donald and Immy Lancaster and slotted home her first of four. The third went in on nine minutes when Rosie Johnson got on the end of the ball poking it over the line from a corner.

The fourth and fifth goals came at the end of the half, the fourth the result of some more impressive passing between Immy Lancaster and Flo Donald with Immy slotting home. Goal number five was Ronnell’s second and came from her run up the right wing and an excellent shot at a tight angle.

Tottenham came back on in the second half and attacked from the off, however Enfield were psyched up and came back strongly and began to put Tottenham under pressure.  Four minutes into the second half Tottenham failed to clear, which resulted in a messy own goal, when defenders and the keeper ended up accidently scrambling the ball over the line and into the Tottenham goal.

For a while the game became quite scrappy but Tottenham managed hold out with some excellent saves from keeper Elianne Mahay-Goodrich who had her work cut out, but managed to keep the ball out of the net with some fine saves both with hands and feet.  Defenders Joely Harris-Tharp and Emily Tibbs worked hard throughout the match defending strongly as well as bringing the play forward at every opportunity.

Kally Ann Westgarth managed to regain control of the match when she scored the sixth goal 13 minutes into the second half.  Kally Ann scored a dream of a goal when her cool solo run at the Enfield goal was matched by an equally well taken shot.

Ronnell Humes doubled her score in the last seven minutes of the half with goal numbers three and four. Her third from a pass on the right from Izzy Lewis, Ronnell fired in an excellent shot from the edge of the box.  Ronnell’s final goal came when she found herself with the ball between the keeper and goal, turning to slot in the final goal of the game for the Tottenham side to keep their place as league leaders and to earn her player of the match.

A single goal in the third minute of the second half was enough to send the Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Under 11 Whites to the top of the HCGFL table.

Clear goal scoring opportunities were few and far between, but Holly Beaumont came back revived from the break and made sure her shot was on target and hit the back of the net.

Harvesters’ organised defence worked well to keep out the Tottenham attack who were keen to add to their 14 goal tally in their last two games.  Shots from Ronell Hume and Immy Lancaster skimmed the post and crosses by Kally Ann Westgarth and Izzy Lewis were shut down by a defensive Harvesters side.

Flo Donald and Emily Tibbs both played strongly in the middle pushing forward and tracking back to help out against any Harvester’s forward runs.  Joely Harris-Tharp had an excellent game in the defence making a superb clearance off the line in the dying minutes of the first half.

Elianne Mahay-Goodrich looked impressive in goal and kept a clean sheet for Tottenham, while Rosie Johnson made her presence felt up front, but was unable to break through the solid defence.

The pace of the game was fast and Tottenham showed some classy passing play and as much as they would have liked to have clinched the game with a second goal, they kept their concentration ensuring that they cut out any Harvesters attacks.

Carlota Franques was magnificent in defence, never stopping chasing the ball down and marshalling the troops to defend set pieces.  Carlota not only proved a strong barrier to any Harvesters attack, but she was also strong in pushing forward and deservedly won player of the match, though given that all the girls played well and as a team it was a hard to single anyone player out.

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Under 11s Whites did their goal difference a big favour when they put nine goals past a stunned Whetstone Wanderers side.

Tottenham nearly went ahead from the off with some neat passing play between captain Flo Donald and Immy Lancaster, but had to wait five minutes for Rosie Jackson to open the scoring by slotting home a cross from last week’s hat-trick hero Immy Lancaster.

The game started to slow down and it looked like the sloping pitch might have its advantages for the home side even though Tottenham had the lion’s share of the possession.  Defenders Joely Harris-Tharp and Carlota Franques had to do more than they had expected as Whetstone pushed forward.  However, Spurs soon perked up with the arrival of Holly Beaumont, Izzy Lewis and Ronell Humes into the game.

Holly Beaumont was on fire and in a four minute burst bagged herself a hat trick and the player of the match title.  The first of Holly’s treble coming from a goal mouth scramble, the second from a confidently taken shot slammed into the net and the third from skilful passing play with her colleagues Flo Donald and Izzy Lewis.

For the second week running, Tottenham proved effective from corner kicks and eight minutes into the second half two corners delivered by Immy Lancaster had gone in off Whetstone players, who were unable to clear the in swinging crosses.

Hard work from Kally Ann Westgarth on the left wing came to fruition when she struck the seventh home.  A minute later Emily Tibbs, who had had a quiet game in goal in the first half, used her unspent energy to force her way through a goalmouth scramble and poke the eighth home.  Ronell Humes who had menaced the Whetstone defence throughout the game finally managed to get her name on the score sheet and seal a 9-0 win for Tottenham.

The Tottenham Hotspurs Ladies Under 11 Whites demonstrated their continuing improvement with a solid 5-0 win over Enfield Rangers.  The first three goals all came from corners with Kally Ann Westgarth putting home the first after four and a half minutes.  The pre-match warm-up focused on attacking from corners led by assistant coach Max Harris-Tharp and it paid dividends when Immy Lancaster actually scored directly from her kick from the corner flag. Unluckily for Rangers the third goal went in off one of their own players.

Ronell Humes dominated up front and was unlucky not to see any of her shots hit the back of the net. Ronell was supported up front by excellent crossing from the wings by Izzy Lewis and Immy Lancaster on the right and Rosie Johnson and Kally Ann Westgarth on the left.

Elianne Mahay-Goodrich making her debut in goal looked confident and dealt competently with any attempts from the opposition.  Joely Harris-Tharp took control of the defence and had a good game, supported by Emily Tibbs, who also managed to make her mark on most of the pitch with some excellent runs from the defence.  Captain Flo Donald ensured that she dominated the central midfield area, constantly tracking back to protect the defence as well as making some excellent forays in the direction of Rangers the goal.

All the girls played well, making some brilliant runs when they had the space, but always looking out for the pass and to work as a team. The player of the match award had to go to Immy Lancaster, who showed superb skill and ability on the right wing and score twice in a two minute flurry in the second half to complete a hat trick.

The THLFC Under-11 Whites showed their quality by beating the current champions in a tough but stylish match. The girls showed fantastic team spirit and a desire to play for each other.

Against the run of play the Whites came off from the first half a goal down.  Having out-played the visitors for much of the first half, Enfield took their chance when it came and slotted past stand in keeper Holly Beaumont when they finally found a chink in the Tottenham defence.  Shots from captain Flo Donald and Ronell Humes had gone inches wide and over the bar and Enfield were lucky to end the first half one up.

Tottenham got their game back together in the second half, after picking their heads up and with a clear determination to win.  Within five minutes of kick off, Ronnell Humes, who had chased every ball in the centre of the park, out smarted the Enfield defence with a run down the right wing.  Ronell’s inch perfect cross found Immy Lancaster just inside the box and the Spurs player quickly controlled the ball and drove into the bottom right hand corner to even the score.

With belief in their step, the Whites continued to push forward.  Flo Donald made some lovely long passes out to the left wing for Rosie Johnson to pick up on.  Halfway through the second half Kally Ann Westgarth was alert to a cross in from goal scorer Immy Lancaster and Kally Ann made a good contact with the ball putting Tottenham ahead.

Enfield tried to get back in the game, but Tottenham’s defence was too strong for them.  Player of the match Carlota Franques took charge at the back and led the battle to keep Enfield out, making it clear where everyone was needed.  Joely Harris Tharp and Emily Tibbs worked closely with Carlota forming a strong defensive line up.

Minutes before the end Holly Beaumont made a quick decision to come out and swiftly cleared the ball before it reached the feet of an Enfield player, who looked on target for goal and ensured Tottenham bagged all three points.

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Under-11 Whites started their first game of the league season against St. Albans City
Youth strongly, but it took them 20 minutes to breach the St Albans defence with Holly Beaumont coolly opening the
scoring.

The match became a bit more comfortable when Rosie Jackson bundled the ball over the line from a goalmouth
scramble from a Kally Ann Westgarth cross just before the half time whistle to make it 2-0.

St Albans initially came back strongly after the break, but were soon pushed back and minutes into the second half Tottenham made their mark with Ronell Humes scoring a lovely goal from a powerful shot to put the Whites 3-0 up and the game seemingly out of St Albans reach.

Ten minutes later, a three player move from Izzy Lewis’ pass out from goal to captain Flo Donald led to Rosie Johnson poking home her second of the day.  Before St Albans had a chance to draw breath, Immy Lancaster picked up on a throw in from Joely Harris-Tharp and ran down the right to score Tottenham’s fifth goal.

As the game progressed, the heat and injuries to Carlota Franques and Flo Donald started to tell and St Albans replied with two soft goals.  Emily Tibbs saved the day as the last person back making a crucial challenge to stop a third goal and earned herself the player of the match award.

friendly tournament
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Under 11s Whites got off to a flying start at a pre season home tournament. The girls held the Crystal Palace Under-10s and Under-11s sides to goal-less draws and beat Peterborough United U10 1-0, West Ham United U10 2-0 before taking three points from our Under 10 Whites side in a 2-0 victory giving us the points needed to win the tournament.

Old hands Rosie Johnson and Kally Anne Westgarth got on the score sheet.  New girls Emily Tibbs and Immy Lancaster both found the back of the net, Immy made up for missing a penalty by scoring minutes later.

Carlota Franques chased the ball down all over the pitch and she and Joely Harris Tharp looked as solid as ever in defence protecting goalkeeping volunteers, Kally Ann Westgarth, Izzy Lewis, Emily Tibbs and Rosie Johnson, who all took their turns in between the sticks and to their credit let nothing through against some competitive teams.

Ronnell Humes made her mark, harrying the opposition in front of the goal and looked a threat, while captain Flo Donald was as steady as ever and led the girls, helping the new signings to gel with the old making it a great day out and looking like a promising start for a new season.
