QPR U12 3
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U12 1
Herts. Girls Football League
If Spurs Ladies were to have any chance of challenging Luton for the league title, they would have to win their remaining matches.  QPR was just the team to test their ability at Birkbeck College Sports ground in Greenford.

From the kick off, QPR were using the tactic of playing the long ball into the central position of the Spurs defence.  Eventually they went ahead after 25 minutes of the first half of play.  Spurs Ladies didn’t really threaten the QPR keeper as they are accustomed to and did not really raise their game at the whistle for the end of the first half.

QPR started the second half in the same vein as they finished the first half.  Although Spurs made a few chances, they did not capitalise on them and  QPR forged further ahead in the 17th minute after the off-side flag was not raised and the referee was not in a position to over-rule.

Spurs got on the scoresheet three minutes later, when Whitney Tango scored from inside the penalty area and then we started to see a little of the Spurs Ladies quality we know, but it was all too late.  In the 34th minute of the game, QPR extended their lead to 3-1.

QPR were the worthy winners on the day and there are lessons to be learnt by Spurs Ladies after their first defeat of the season.

Chelsea Academy U12 9
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U12 1
Friendly
The Under-12s travelled to Guildford for a friendly 7-a-side match against the Chelsea Academy Girls U12 team.  The match kicked off at 10:30am with 3 x 20 minute intervals of play.

Spurs Ladies made their usual slow start and conceded a goal in the first minutes of the game.  Chelsea went on to score their second goal six minutes later before Spurs began to get into gear but without testing the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Spurs played a better second 20 minute period, but were not forceful enough to win their challenges in the Chelsea area.  The Tottenham defence held together against the mean Chelsea attack, but eventually conceded another goal.  Daisy made some good saves on several occasions to keep the score respectable at that stage.

The third 20minute period saw Daisy out of goal and Taylor wearing the keeper’s gloves.  The Chelsea girls capitalised on their better fitness and passing skills, which produced a further six goals due to errors in the penalty area.  Spurs got a consolation goal in the 23rd minute of the period through Whitney Tango.

Spurs Ladies could have put up a better performance and the score-line did not reflect the true effort they made in the first two sessions of the match.

Final score was 9-1.

Hatfield Legion Belles U12 0
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U12 8
Herts. Girls Football League
The venue was Roe Hill Recreation ground in Hatfeld and the Under-12s arrived to find the pitch wet and a little muddy.  The weather was overcast with icy winds as the game kicked off.

Spurs Ladies were without Nikki Hunnable and Hannah Lyons due to injuries sustained during the friendly match played the previous day.  The ground conditions were not favourable for the Spurs Ladies style of play although the opposition tried hard to stop Spurs playing, but threatened little.

Hatfield got off to a flying start by testing the Spurs defence with a high ball into the midfield area but Shianne St. Louis was there to stem the flow.  Spurs Ladies' first goal came after five minutes through Renata Inniss, who then put Spurs 2-0 ahead in the 20th minute.

One minute after the kick off in the second half, Renata Inniss completed her hat-trick for a 3-0 Spurs lead.  Whitney Tango having missed the first half of play, scored a hat-trick in the 10th, 12th and 13th minutes to extend Spurs lead to 6-0.  Charlotte Dean and Rosie Kmita added to the tally for an 8-0 win by Spurs.

Not an outstanding performance by Spurs Ladies, who will need to pull out all stops in their next game.

A gutsy performance by Rosie Kmita made her player of the match.

Herts. Girls Football League Cup - Group A
This re-arranged League Cup match was the first meeting of the two Under-12 teams and took place on a firm Greenwood Park pitch in sunshine with a slight breeze.  Spurs Ladies were at full strength with Nikki Hunnable recovering from a leg injury and Rosie Kmita recovering from a bad cold.

Tottenham kicked off the first half with Nikki Hunnable, Rosie Kmita, Taylor O’Leary and Whiney Tango on the sidelines and the team was working well together, as the pitch conditions favoured their style of play.

Ayse Mustafa was battling from the start and it was a combination between her and Renata Inniss’ determination that saw Spurs Ladies go one up after eight minutes play with Renata finishing well.  Olivia Keown and Shianne St Louis did well to stem the flow of the St Alban’s attack whilst Katie Mills and Molly Kmita did the mopping up on the left and right back positions.  Harley Keenlyside got in position each time to put a hold on the St. Albans midfield with Georgia Bruce keeping busy on the right wing with the aid from Charlotte Dean.

Hannah Lyons came close to making it goal number two in the 15th minute, but the St Albans keeper was in the right position to save.  Whitney Tango and Taylor O’Leary substituted Molly and Georgia Bruce after 20 minutes play and Whitney put Spurs 2-0 ahead within five minutes of coming into the action.

Daisy O’Sullivan made her first crucial save in the 27th minute, but it was two vital clearance in defence by Olivia Keown in the 26th and 28th minute of the game that saw Spurs ladies finish the first half with a two goals to nil lead.

Spurs Ladies strengthened their midfield in the second half with Taylor and Ayse gunning for every ball.  Some good heading by Taylor along with ball control from Renata and Ayse helped Whitney to extend Spurs goal tally to three.  A minute later, Taylor rifled a shot pass the St. Albans’ keeper for goal number four.

Nikki Hunnable showed no signs of a fitness problem as she hassled the St. Albans defence several times down the right wing.

St Albans managed to pull a goal back in the 16th minute from their No 9, who was very busy in both halves on the field during the match, but Whitney scored her third goal and Spurs fifth in the 19th minute of the second half to complete the win for Tottenham.

Herts. Girl's Football League Cup - Group C
The venue at Fredrick Knights saw the girls take to a wet but firm pitch which was a bit slippery in the goal area at both ends.  There was a chill in the air with continuous light drizzles throughout the morning.

Luton wasted no time by scoring in the fifth minute of the game.  Spurs Ladies tried to battle with the Luton defence, but hardly put the Luton keeper under any pressure.  Luton extended their lead to 0-2 in the fifteenth minute with a ball into the midfield area, which had the Spurs defenders sprinting back into defence.

The second half kicked off in similar fashion to the first and again Luton went ahead once again in the fifth minute.  A bit more determination was shown by Spurs Ladies in the second half, but the Luton players were more determined to win every ball as they chased in defence and attack.  Spurs Ladies only had themselves to blame as they conceded another goal in the 10th minute, as they failed to to keep to their positions.

At the final whistle, it was the discipline and stamina that won Luton the game. This is the second time Luton has won with such a wide margin in a Cup game against Spurs Ladies.  All the other league matches have been very close in the favour of Luton.

Herts. Girl's Football League Cup - Group C
The pitch at the  Birchwood Leisure Centre was wet and a little muddy  as the game started under an overcast sky with icy winds.

Spurs Ladies started the first half without Nikki Hunnable, Rosie Kmita, Aysa Mustafa and Katie Mills.

Hatfield posed a threat from the kick-off with a ball straight through the middle of the Spurs defence, but the girls fought back and missed three chances in the first half and looked lacklustre during the match.  Hatfield were not prepared to take another heavy defeat like the last time the two teams met and they fought for every ball with the will to win. The first half finished 0-0.

Spurs Ladies first goal came after five minutes in the second half through Whitney Tango and ten minutes later Taylor O’Leary scored to put Spurs Ladies 2-0 ahead.  Aysa Mustafa thought she had scored Spurs third only to have the goal disallowed.  Rosie did some good work on the left wing whilst Nikki did her share on the right wing.

A poor performance by Spurs Ladies who came away with the three points to move closer to Luton with a game in hand and will need more than luck if they are to over-turn Luton in two forth-coming matches.
