Our trip to Cambridge did not prove to be
a profitable one as Cambridge ran out 4-1 winners. Spurs found themselves 4-0 down after only 25 minutes and found it very difficult to get back into the game. Tarn Harris managed to pull a goal back just after half time but it was only a consolation as Spurs failed to capitalised on some better possession DAN COCKLE |

Spurs Under-14 Whites got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over
Enfield Town Ladies.
Spurs started brightly and both Chloe Gunn and Rhiannon Kelly had early chances to put the away side ahead. A solid defence of Katie Goodland, Paige Barnard, Zoë Jackson and Tessa Osbourne didn’t allow Enfield to create many chances in the opening 20 minutes. Spurs broke the deadlock just before half time when Rhiannon Kelly’s blocked shot fell to Chloe Gunn who instinctively squared the ball across the box to Lindsey Cockle, who slotted the ball past the keeper. Spurs played a controlled game in the second half, snubbing out any chances Enfield had to get back in the game. Despite not having a lot to do, Sian Osmond did well when called upon, making her first start of the season. With fifteen minutes to go Spurs extended their lead to 2-0 with a magnificent team goal. Jodie Fenn, Lucky Di Biasio and Chloe Gunn passed the ball around the midfield and worked the ball wide to Rhiannon Kelly. Rhiannon slotted the ball through to Lucky, who then took the ball into the area, past two Enfield defenders and placed the ball into the bottom corner. Another convincing win for Spurs under 14’s. A lightning start put
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Whites on the road to victory with a goal
inside a minute from Tarn Harris. Latching onto a ball through the
Blues defence from Chloe Gunn, Tarn lifted her shot over the advancing
Megan Barsby in the Blues goal to give the Whites the lead.
It wasn't long before the Whites striker added her second with a neat close range finish to Lucky Di Biasio's low right wing cross into the six yard box, with just eight minutes on the clock. In between, Sian Osmond was required to make a plunge at the feet of Becky Shephard the Blues striker to thwart her run on goal. Harris was sharpness itself as she twice latched onto passes into the right hand channel and flashed shots across Megan's goal, but the keeper produced a good diving save to stop Andrea Edobor's low drive at the foot of her post. With half an hour of the first half gone, Andrea produced a low finish from a shot taken early to beat the keeper at her post and to give the Whites a 3-0 lead which they took into the half-time break. It was only a brave save by Megan at Lucky's feet that prevented a further goal in injury time. The second half was a more sedate affair, with the Blues stiffening up in defence to stymie the attacking intent of the Whites. An early strike from Lindsey Cockle cleared the bar from 18 yards and following a couple of sighters from distance, Chloe Gunn struck the fourth Whites goal with a 20 yard shot over goalie Barsby to round off a 4-0 win for the league leaders. |

Spurs Under-14 Whites
returned to action after the Christmas break but failed to take all
three points from their home game with Luton Town.
Following a sloppy start, Spurs found themselves 2-0 down going into the half-time break. However they showed great spirit and started their comeback with twenty minutes to go. It was Tarn Harris who reacted quickly when the Luton goalkeeper spilled the ball after a Rhiannon Kelly cross. Tarn pounced on the loose ball and slotted home from close range. Rhiannon then turned from provider to scorer with a stunning goal from well outside the box that left the keeper with no chance. Despite a valiant effort Spurs could not grab a late winner and had to settle for a point.

Spurs
Under-14 Whites fought hard in their away game to Hitchin Town Belles
and were unlucky to not come away with all three points.
Spurs started brightly and had several chances to take the lead with Rhiannon Kelly, Chloe Gunn and Tarn Harris all having good chances. Spurs carried their good momentum into the second half and eventually broke the deadlock when Tarn Harris capitalized on a mistake from the Hitchin keeper and coolly slotted the ball home. The home side managed to pull back an equalizer with only ten minutes left on the clock. Despite a period of intense pressure Spurs failed to convert any more chances and the game ended all square. Spurs Under-14 Whites are becoming the
HCGFL’s draw specialists with another draw, this time with Watford
Ladies.
It was business as usual for the Spurs girls, who again hit the ground running and had many opportunities to take the lead with both Vanessa Hassans and Lindsey Cockle going close. Despite a first half of sustained pressure Spurs went into the half-time break with the score 0-0. The second half saw Spurs finally take the lead when Andrea Edobor’s corner to the back post was met by the right foot of Tarn Harris to slot in her second goal in two games. Unfortunately Spurs failed to convert more chances and with fifteen minutes to go Watford managed to equalize. The corner was floated in and as the Watford striker took the shot it took a wicked deflection and neither Paige Barnard or Nicola Davey could manage to keep the ball out. The match ended 1-1; a result in which the Spurs team will feel hard done by having played so well for most of the match. DANIEL COCKLE |

Spurs began their League Cup campaign
with a home tie against Harvesters B.
Beginning the game brightly with Tarn Harris going close in the opening minutes, it took Chloe Gunn to finally break the deadlock mid-way through the first half. Andrea Edobor picked the ball up on the left wing and spotted Chloe’s run through the middle, with Andrea laying the ball into the midfielder’s path. From the edge of the box, Chloe hit a shot that crept under the keeper. Spurs didn’t have to wait long for their second, a long clearance from Zoë Jackson was misjudged by the Harvesters keeper and Tarn Harris took full advantage, muscling her way in and slotting the ball home. The game was wrapped up before the half-time whistle. Rhiannon Kelly made a surging run down the right flank and her low driven cross was met by the right boot of Lindsey Cockle to tap home Spurs’ their and put them through to the quarter-final.
