Harvesters U14 B 2
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U14 Blues 6
Home Counties Girls Football League - Under-14 Division 1
Spurs seemed in control of the game from the start, having most of the possession and keeping the ball in the Harvesters end for a good part of the game.

In the 21st minute, a great pass from Chloe Kraemer was picked up by Ruby Marlow, who scored the first goal of the game.  Then straight from the restart, Becky Shephard collected the ball and ran it up to the Harvesters goal and knocked it in the net for Spurs second.

Kirsty Cunoosamy made a great run with the ball that she hit into the net, but the goal was disallowed.  Rosie Daly then picked the ball up and ran it up the centre of the pitch, producing a pass to Becky, who hit the cross bar.  Just after this a Harvester player broke away and scored their first goal, but play was soon in the Harvesters end again where Spurs were awarded a corner.  After a scramble in front of goal, the ball was knocked in by Ruby in the last minute of the first half for her second and Spurs third goal.

In the 49th minute, Chloe played the ball to Becky, who scored her second to make it 4-1 to Spurs and then Tayla Goodman picked the ball up well from a Harvesters kick and made a lovely pass to Kelly Fenlon, who narrowly missed the goal.

Becky got another goal in the 57th minute for her hat trick and Spurs fifth goal before Harvesters got their second.

Spurs kept playing well and in the last minute of the game Ruby got her hat trick and the game finished 6-2 to Spurs with Ruby being made player of the match.  Both teams played a good and friendly game.

Manager John Goodman commented, "It was a great performance by all and gave the girls a well deserved result. I could not have asked for any more commitment from the girls that played ... well done !"

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U14 Blues 3
Athenlay U14 0
London FA Youth Cup - Preliminary Round
A solid performance by the Under-14 Blues saw them progress to the First Round of the London FA Youth Cup with a 3-0 win over Athenlay.

It was a good start from Spurs with a goal from Becky Shephard in the second minute of the game.  Every Spurs player on the field played as if they really wanted to win, keeping the ball in the Athenlay end of the pitch for a good part of the first half.

The midfield held the ball up well, laying it on to the forwards and having shots at goal themselves that narrowly missed. The defence also played a good game with some good tackles and passes.

The second half started just as profitably as the first with the subs playing just as well and in the 54th minute Beth Brown-Hunter-Scott scored the second goal of the game and ten minutes later Kelly Fenlon scored the third and final goal.

It was a good game, played on a wet and sticky pitch making it hard work for all the players, but they all did themselves proud.  Ryah played a great game in midfield and was made player of the match.

Manager John Goodman said, "The girls gave gave a good performance against a physical team and showed that they will work hard for success.  WELL DONE !"

Northwood U14 0
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U14 Blues 5
Home Counties Girls Football League - Under-14 Division 1
Spurs Ladies U14 Blues notched another win against Northwood at Fred Knights to move further up in the league.

It was another good game from Spurs with the first goal coming the 24th minute from Kirsty Cunoosamy.

Both teams battled well and the first half finished 1-0 to Spurs.

In the second minute of the second half Katie Ramsden scored her first goal of the season and in the 46th minute Ruby Marlow hit the net, followed in the 48th minute by a goal from Becky Shephard.  Ruby scored her second of the match in the 53rd minute making the final score 5-0 to Spurs.

Lotty Lovejoy-Crump played her first game back after her toe operation and put in a strong performance to be made player of the match.

Manager John Goodman said, "All the girls played well and gave a good all round performance, with Tayla Goodman out injured (with a back injury), Sinead Makins playing with an ankle injury and Lotty returning after an operation (foot), the girls reshaped well at the back to cope with all Northwood attacks.  It was nice to see the midfield link well with our attack and we had a comfortable win.  Well done !"

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U14 Whites 4
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies U14 Blues 0
Home Counties Girls Football League - Under-14 Division 1
A lightning start knocked Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Blues off their stride with a goal inside a minute from Tarn Harris.  The Blues defence were caught on the turn and the advancing Megan Barsby was unable to stop the ball being lifted over her.

The Whites striker added her second with a neat close range finish to Lucky Di Biasio's low right wing cross into the six yard box, with just eight minutes on the clock.  In between, Whites keeper Sian Osmond was required to make a plunge at the feet of Becky Shephard the Blues striker to thwart her run on goal.  Ruby Marlow and Becky Shephard both had half chances, but were prevented from getting their shots away and when the play switched to the other end, Megan produced a good diving save to stop Andrea Edobor's low drive at the foot of her post.

Unfortunately, the returning Lotty-Lovejoy-Crump was hit with a knee injury and had to depart from the action.  With half an hour of the first half gone, Andrea's low shot was taken early and snuck in at the post to give the Whites a 3-0 lead which they took into the half-time break.  It was only a brave save by Megan at Lucky's feet that prevented a further goal in injury time.

The second half was a more sedate affair, with the Blues stiffening up in defence and midfield to stymie the attacking intent of the Whites.  Their efforts kept the Whites down to one further goal when Chloe Gunn hit a 20 yard shot over goalie Barsby to round off a 4-0 win for the league leaders.

London Youth FA Cup - First Round
Spurs U14 Blues were unlucky to lose a very close game against Crystal Palace, but were knocked out of the London Youth FA Cup

Playing their first game since before Christmas, the team only had twelve players and three of them were playing with injury or illness, but every player put up a really good fight.

Jessie Donnelly, a new member of the team, started off apprehensively, but soon settled well into the game and set up two of the goals with great long kicks.

Becky Shephard was on top form and scored a hat trick, but unfortunately Crystal Palace scored four goals and the final score was 4-3 to the South London side.

Every player played well, but the lack of games told toward the end of the game and tiredness was showing. Kelly played consistently throughout the game and was the player of the match.

Manager John Goodman commented, "The girls gave as much as they could in the second half, but with a heavy pitch and a lack of fit players, fatigue was a huge factor in our loss."

Cambridge City U14 5

Home Counties Girl's Football League - Division 1
Tottenham Under-14 Blues found it tough against Cambridge City, who made full use of the wind advantage they had in the first half.

Spurs got off on the back foot and with the wind against them went 5-0 down in the first ten minutes.  It took them the first twenty minutes to get into the game, but then they started to play well and the defence and the goalkeeper kept Cambridge at bay for the rest of the game.

In the second half Spurs had a few good chances, the best one being a shot from Kelly Fenlon that narrowly missed the target.  Sinead Makins fought well and was player of the match.

The managers commented, "The first ten minutes spoiled what could have been a close game.  The team need to focus from the first whistle but they played well."

Home Counties Girl's Football League - Division 1
Although Spurs U14 Blues suffered another defeat at the hands of Leigh Rockets they played the best I've seen them play all season.

The girls kept the ball in the Rockets end for the first fourteen minutes of the game, but just couldn't find the back of the net.  Then Rockets broke away and scored in the 17th minute of the game and then again in the 26th minute.

It was a good end to end game and Spurs kept fighting all the way through, gaining a foothold in the match when Becky Shephard scored in the 46th minute.  However, Rockets got another goal in the 50th minute and the game finished 3-1 to Rockets.

Katie Ramsden was player of the match, but all the girls put everything they could into their game.

The managers thought that the girls gave a great performance from the off, but against a well organised Rockets side, they were unlucky to go down 3-1.

Home Counties Girl's Football League - Division 1
It was another goal-laden game for the Spurs Under-14 Blues who shared eight goals with Luton Town.

Tottenham got off to a good start forcing a corner in the fourth minute of the match, but it didn't come to anything. Five minutes later, Becky Shephard ran the ball up the left wing and planted it straight into the net.

The ball was then down the Spurs end where Megan Barsby made a good save, before Becky scored another good goal in the 17th minute and then soon after, a good attempt by Jessie Donnelly, following a long run, narrowly missed the goal.

Luton got back into the game by scoring goals in the 20th and 22nd and again in the 28th minute to take a 3-2 lead.

A hand ball in the Luton goal by an outfield player soon after meant Spurs were awarded a penalty that Becky converted for her third goal of the game. However, Luton scored again in the final minute of the first half to go into the break 4-3 up.

After everyone had got their breath back, the second half started just as positively with some great defending from the Spurs back four and in the 57th minute Becky got her fourth goal of the game to tie it up at 4-4.  That was how the score finished with Becky being awarded the player of the match.

The managers thought the girls showed a good positive attitude and earned a deserved point.
