The Spurs Ladies u15s completed their pre-season preparations with a friendly against St. Martins. The summer months saw us say goodbye to Sarah Skipper, Hannah Lyons, Taylor O’Leary and Shianne St. Louis who depart with our best wishes for the future.  We welcome Georgie Richings, Jemma Young and Phoebe Eshen to the team - all of whom made their debuts for Spurs Ladies in this friendly. 

Spurs were quickly out of the blocks and applied some early pressure to the St. Martins goal. Good running from Nikki Hunnable saw her cross cleared whilst good interplay from Charlotte Dean and Siobhan Jones saw a dangerous cross cut out.  Phoebe Eshen went close to opening the scoring seeing her shot well saved by the St. Martins keeper. Ayse Mustafa shot just wide from a corner as the U15s sought to find their range in front of goal. 

After nine minutes, a good pass from Katie Mills found Nikki, who raced down the wing before crossing for Ayse to see her shot well saved for a corner.  Charlotte then had a shot saved whilst Nikki fired narrowly over from a cross from Phoebe.  Charlotte Dean was really pulling the strings in midfield and her great cross field ball found Siobhan, who returned the ball to Charlotte, only to see her goal bound shot blocked.  Surely the breakthrough would come and it nearly did, but not as expected when on 17 minutes when St. Martins broke dangerously firing narrowly past Daisy O’Sullivan’s post.

On 19 minutes the deadlock was broken when a cleared cross from Nikki was met by Ayse to fire into the net to make it 1-0 to Spurs.  Nikki then went close to doubling the score firing narrowly wide before a good pass from Jemma Young found Ayse whose cross shot flew across the face of goal. 

On 28 minutes it was all square when a St. Martins through ball split the Spurs defence.  Katie could not quite cut the ball out before the St. Martins attacker fired past Daisy to equalise.  

Spurs regained the lead on 33 minutes when a pass from Renata Inniss found Siobhan who took the ball on and rounded the keeper before slotting the ball into the net to make the score 2-1 to the U15s. St. Martins then sought to regain parity and Rosie Kmita did well to head clear from a corner whilst Georgie Richings cut out a dangerous through ball to keep the score at 2-1 at half time. 

If the first half was one of missed chances then the second was exactly the opposite.  Two minutes after the restart, Renata did well to win the ball in midfield before taking it on, holding off a challenge and finishing a great run by slotting the ball past the keeper to make the score 3-1 to Spurs. 

St. Martins were still dangerous and Daisy did well to clear with her feet from a break and was grateful to see a shot fly past her post shortly after. Molly Kmita and Harley Keenlyside were resolute in the middle of defence snuffing out many of the St. Martins efforts before they became a danger to the Spurs goal.  Laura Smith was influential in midfield threading a through ball to Nikki that was narrowly cut out by a defender to preventing Spurs from increasing their lead further.  

Renata, Jemma and Phoebe all went close before Spurs made it 4-1 on 59 minutes when a corner from Jemma found Renata on the floor.  She leapt to her feet to shoot past the keeper for her second of the match.  Two minutes later it was 5-1 when a lovely run from Rosie took the ball into the penalty area.  She crossed to Renata who turned and shot high into the net to complete her hat trick.  

On 63 minutes the ball was fed out to Siobhan on the right.  She struck a shot with venom that smacked off the post and into the net to make it 6-1 to Spurs.  A good one-two between Renata and Jemma saw the latter’s shot fly just past the post as Spurs were rampant. 

Nikki then slotted a ball through to Charlotte, who took it on before firing past the keeper to make the score 7-1.  To be fair St. Martins never gave up and grabbed a deserved consolation for their efforts leaving the final score 7-2 to Spurs.  

The good result sets us up nicely for the season. Well done to the girls and well played St. Martins.

The u15s played host to Hampstead U15 for the first league game of the season on a day that saw Spurs hit top form.  

The u15s had a full squad to choose from for the match and opened the scoring after only five minutes when Siobhan Jones found Renata Inniss in the box. Renata turned and shot into the corner of the net to make the score 1-0. 

With seven minutes on the clock Nikki Hunnable crossed to Renata who in turn found Jemma Young in the penalty area. Jemma took aim but saw her shot blocked. Luckily for her the ball came straight back to her feet and she made sure the second time firing high into the net to score her first goal for Spurs Ladies and make the score 2-0. 

The Spurs backline had to be in their guard against an unknown opponent in the early stages of the game and both Harley Keenlyside and Katie Mills were called into action to cut out probing runs from Hampstead attackers. 

After 16 minutes Renata picked the ball up in midfield, having been found by Rosie Kmita, and took the ball into the box before lashing the ball home to grab her second of the game and make the score 3-0 to Spurs. 

Renata completed a quick-fire hat-trick on 18 minutes after being found on the edge of the box by Charlotte Dean before firing home to make the score 4-0. 

With 33 minutes on the clock a cross from Laura Smith found Renata who teed up Phoebe Eshen to open her account for Spurs and make the score 5-0 to the u15s. 

On 34 minutes Whitney Tango picked the ball up on the edge of the penalty area. Her shot was blocked but the rebound fell to Ayse Mustafa who slotted home from close range to make the score 6-0. 

Almost straight from the restart a goal kick was intercepted by Ayse. Ayse found Whitney who fairly lashed the ball home to open her account for the season making the score 7-0 at half time.  

Laura was having a very good game on the right flank and fed Whitney with a precise pass on 40 minutes. Whitney promptly found Siobhan with her back to goal and the latter turned and drove the ball home to make the score 8-0 to Spurs. 

Spurs best goal of the game came on 43 minutes when good interplay between Katie and Laura started a move that resulted in Laura whipping in a dangerous cross that was flicked on by Siobhan to Phoebe who calmly planted the ball into the side of the net to claim her second of the game and make the score 9-0. 

With 48 minutes on the clock Whitney demonstrated some great hold up play waiting for support which arrived from Siobhan who need no second invitation to score her second of the match making it 10-0 to the u15s. 

On 52 minutes Phoebe picked the ball up on the left and passed to Rosie who had made a great run from midfield. Rosie took the ball into the box and fired into the far corner making it 11-0 to Spurs.   

After 58 minutes after making a great run down the left flank Rosie found Renata in the penalty area with her back to goal. Renata ‘turned on a sixpence’ before lashing the ball home to claim her fourth to make the score 12-0. 

Georgie Richings and Molly Kmita were tidy at the back with Molly letting fly with a couple of shots from distance in the second half. 

On the hour a dangerous cross from Laura found Jemma in the box who shot into the corner of the net making the score 13-0 to Spurs. 

Jemma scored her second goal in as many minutes to complete her hat-trick and make it 14-0 when she collected a ball on the edge of the box and fired home. 

On 62 Laura picked the ball up on the right wing and fired in a shot on goal. The bounce of the ball deceived the Hampstead keeper to make the score 15-0 to Spurs. 

Ayse took aim from distance a minute later and beat the keeper to record her second goal of the game making the score 16-0. 

On 64 minutes Renata grabbed her fifth and Spurs seventeenth when she fired home as the Hampstead team tired. 

It was Ayse’s turn to complete her hat-trick on 66 minutes when she fired home from close range making the score 18-0. 

The avalanche of goals in the last few minutes continued when on 68 minutes Siobhan fed Renata who needed no second invitation to make it 19-0 grabbing her sixth of the match in the process. 

With a minute to go a goal kick from Daisy O’Sullivan was picked up by Nikki who found Whitney in space. Whitney took the ball through the centre of defence before smashing the ball home to grab her second and make the final score 20-0 to Spurs.  

A statement of intent – maybe – but on the day the girls were absolutely outstanding and should be congratulated. Well done too to Hampstead who kept trying despite running into a Spurs team in ruthless form and only having ten players.

The THLFC u15s welcomed Letchworth Garden City Eagles to Frederick Knights in a match that saw the long awaited debut of John O’Sullivan as linesman. 

After four minutes Katie Mills found Siobhan Jones on the edge of the box who turned and shot only to see her effort saved by the Letchworth keeper.  A minute later Ayse Mustafa broke through the centre of the Letchworth defence but was unlucky to see her shot rebound off of the post and be cleared. 

As Spurs pressed for the opener Nikki Hunnable beat the keeper to the ball on seven minutes and put in a very good cross that flew across the face of the goal, but was not converted.  Renata Inniss went close having been put through by Jemma Young whilst at the other end Harley Keenlyside had to be on her toes to cut out a Letchworth attack. 

A succession of corners followed culminating in a shot from Renata that was saved.  Charlotte Dean and Phoebe Eshen both went close before Spurs took the lead after 18 minutes.  A corner from Ayse fell to Jemma who fired home to make the score 1-0. 

Letchworth forced a corner a minute later, but Charlotte and then Katie combined to clear the Spurs lines.  On 25 minutes Whitney Tango was first onto a goal-kick and wasted no time in driving the ball back into the Letchworth net to make the score 2-0 to Spurs. 

A minute later Spurs nearly extended the lead when Siobhan latched onto a through ball before seeing her shot saved. Molly Kmita and Whitney went close before Spurs made the score 3-0 after 36 minutes when from a Letchworth corner Harley headed clear to Nikki.  Nikki found Siobhan who found Rosie Kmita whose cross was scrambled home by Renata.  Just prior to half time Whitney saw her shot rebound off the post before being cleared. 

As the second half commenced Rosie and Jemma had shots saved before Daisy O’Sullivan was called on to make a save from a Letchworth shot which was tidied up by Georgie Ritchings. 

Whitney and Rosie both had a couple of efforts that were either saved or flew over the cross bar before the game burst into life on 50 minutes. As with the second goal Spurs were first to react to a Letchworth goal kick.  This time it was Renata who took the ball home before firing a left foot shot into the net to grab her second and the Spurs fourth goal of the game. 

On 51 minutes Whitney won the ball on the left and found Rosie who crossed to Renata to finish and grab her hat-trick and make the score 5-0 to Spurs.  A minute later Siobhan played the ball through to Rosie who found Whitney in the box to convert to grab her second and make the score 6-0 to the u15s. 

Nikki broke down the right flank and crossed to Ayse in the area who shot narrowly over.  After 64 minutes Nikki turned provider again this time finding Renata in the box who shot high into the net to make it 7-0 to Spurs. 

Two minutes later Nikki found Renata again in the box looking for her fifth of the game. This time her shot flew just wide of the upright.  On 72 minutes the ball was played into the Letchworth penalty area from Rosie on the left. Renata laid it off to Ayse to slide the ball home to make the score 8-0 which proved to be the final score. 

Well played girls on another win and clean sheet.

The THLFC u15s arrived at Northwood without the services of regular keeper Daisy O’Sullivan with Renata Inniss and Charlotte Dean each taking a half in goal. 

As usual the Northwood pitch was in excellent condition despite the weather which played a part in the best football played by this Spurs team for some time. On the day the girls passing game was top quality and their finishing clinical despite Northwood’s best efforts. 

In the early stages of the game it was very much the Siobhan Jones and Laura Smith show as they combined on three occasions to go close with Siobhan having a shot saved and an effort fly over the bar after being set up by Laura who herself had a header saved by the keeper from a Siobhan corner. 

It was not all one-way traffic and Harley Keenlyside, Georgie Ritchings and Molly Kmita all had to be on their toes to tidy up Northwood attacks. Whitney Tango then twice went close to opening the score first having a header saved from a Laura free-kick before having a shot saved following good interplay with Siobhan. 

After 12 minutes Laura saw a shot saved as Spurs turned up the pressure and were rewarded a minute later when Rosie Kmita crossed from the left to Laura who turned the ball back across the face of the goal for Whitney to finish to make the score 1-0 to Spurs. 

With 17 minutes on the clock the U15s extended their lead when a Charlotte Dean free kick was turned back into the penalty area by Siobhan before being drilled home by Whitney to make the score 2-0. 

Spurs only had to wait three more minutes to move further ahead. Charlotte fed Whitney on the right who shot across the face of the Northwood goal. The keeper could only parry the ball out to Rosie who smacked it back into the net making it 3-0 to the U15s. 

On 25 minutes Renata made a good save to tip an effort from Northwood over the bar for a corner that was subsequently cleared. On the half hour a good run from Phoebe Eshen found Charlotte on the edge of the area. Her shot flew just past the post.  

On 36 minutes a corner from Siobhan was met by Katie Mills who was unlucky to see her goal bound shot blocked by a Northwood defender. A minute later Siobhan swung in a ball from the left to Phoebe who nodded it back to Rosie who wasted no time in firing he ball into the roof of the net making the score 4-0 to Spurs which was how the half ended.  

The second half had only just begun when Renata (now in midfield) broke through the Northwood defence. She passed to Whitney who crossed the ball back in for Renata to finish and make the score 5-0. 

On 43 minutes Nikki Hunnable swung in dangerous a corner which was picked up by Whitney who set up Jemma Young to make the score 6-0 to Spurs. 

Three minutes later a Northwood throw found its way into the Spurs penalty area. It seemed certain that they would pull a goal back however Charlotte had other ideas and made an outstanding save to tip a fierce shot around the post at full stretch. 

On 50 minutes great passing and movement from Renata and Ayse Mustafa put Ayse through only to see her resultant shot roll agonisingly wide of the post. The U15s extended their lead further on 53 minutes when another pinpoint corner from Nikki was met by Phoebe on the volley to smash home making the score 7-0. 

Phoebe having scored once made it a double two minutes later following a good run and cross from Nikki was bundled home at the second attempt to make the score 8-0 to Spurs. On 56 minutes Nikki having turned provider was unlucky not to score herself when her goal bound shot rattled the cross-bar. 

Charlotte was called to hand to make another save following a Northwood break before Spurs went further ahead on 58 minutes when Whitney passed to Renata who took the ball round a couple of Northwood defenders before slotting it home to make the score 9-0. 

Siobhan went close again with a powerful shot that was saved by keeper whilst Nikki was unlucky to see her long range effort bounce back off of the crossbar. After 75 minutes Spurs won a corner. Nikki swung in the dead ball to Whitney who hit a powerful first time shot under the keeper to complete her hat-trick and make it 10–0 to the U15s. 

As the game entered its final stages Northwood broke and scored what was a very much a consolation goal, but was deserved as they continued to battle to the end. With a minute to go Molly picked up the ball outside the area and hit a great shot over the keeper and into the net to make the final score 11-1 to Spurs.

Well played girls on a convincing win. Some of the football played was a joy to behold and cheered the parents and management despite the tropical storm that raged throughout the game !

The Spurs Ladies U15s arrived at Enfield for their HCGFL match without the services of Katie Mills (broken collarbone), Jemma Young (foot) and Georgie Ritchings and came up against an Enfield side containing ex-Spur Georgia Bruce. 

It was Enfield that had the first chance of the game when after three minutes they broke through and fired over the bar. 

On five minutes, Charlotte Dean was put through by Renata Inniss and took the ball on before calmly slotting home to make the score 1-0 to Spurs. 

Daisy O’Sullivan had to be on her toes in goal making a couple of good saves as Enfield pressed for an equaliser, before a 16th minute Whitney Tango shot flew just wide of the post, whilst at the other end of the pitch Molly Kmita did well to block a goal bound Enfield effort. 

With 20 minutes on the clock Ayse Mustafa played in Nikki Hunnable, who pushed into the Enfield area before firing narrowly wide of the post and then two minutes later Enfield broke and fired narrowly over the bar. 

It was at this point the game stopped when an Enfield player fell awkwardly following a challenge for a ball.  The injury was serious enough to warrant calling an ambulance and after lengthy treatment to the injured player, the referee rightly decided to abandon the game. 

Everyone at Spurs wishes the young lady in question all the best and a very speedy recovery and we look forward to facing Enfield again for a re-match in due course.

Because of holidays, injuries and illness, Spurs under-15s were reduced to just ten players for selection and were further hampered by the inability to play keeper Daisy O' Sullivan as she was out of the age bracket for this under-16 cup.  This meant that Siobhan Jones started off in goal and Laura Smith took her turn between the post sin the second half, with both doing superbly, especially considering that the heavy rain made the ball very slippery.

Valley Park started the game the better of the two teams, playing fast, slowing football that kept the Spurs girls occupied in defence, but the visiting team did manage to pierce the defence after seven minutes with a well-taken goal.

Spurs then assumed control of the game and dominated the rest of the first half, with numerous missed chances, however they managed to equalise from a Phoebe Eshen well-taken goal.  The half-time whistle thus blew with the score standing at one apiece.

The second half saw an evenly matched encounter with various chances at both ends, good football was being played all over the park by both teams, but unfortunately for Tottenham VPR made it 2-1 with a high lob that Laura had no chance of saving and then, shortly afterwards, they made it 3-1 as the short-handed Spurs side started to look tired and the game looked all but over.

The Spurs girls somehow managed to dig deep and were rewarded with a fine headed goal from Charlotte Dean, direct from a corner.  The game was back alive and there were chances aplenty for both sides.  It looked as though the game would go to the wire, but Valley Park Rangers held out for a 3-2 victory.

I have intentionally not named individuals, except the two goalkeepers and goal-scorers, as it was a really good team effort, where everyone played an equal part in what was a really top quality game off football played by two very good teams.

The Spurs Ladies U15s arrived at Enfield on a bitterly cold day for their rescheduled HCGFL match, following the abandoned game on 19^th October 2008.  

It was Spurs that had the first chance of the game, when after six minutes they broke through the Enfield defence.  A through ball from Charlotte Dean found Renata Inniss, who turned two Enfield players, went around the goalkeeper and side-footed into the net for a 0-1 lead. 

On eight minutes, Enfield almost grabbed the equaliser from an in-swinging corner kick, but the Enfield header went wide of the near post.  On nineteen minutes a one-two between Renata and Ayse Mustafa saw Renata weave through two Enfield defenders and keeper, then hold off another defender before slotting home with her left foot, for her and Spurs' second goal.  After twenty minutes of play, Renata and Laura were substituted by Phoebe and Siobhan, but Tottenham continued to pass the ball around for the next nineteen minutes - searching for another goal, but the girls were not playing to their full potential. 

Daisy O’Sullivan had to be on her toes in goal making a couple of good saves as Enfield pressed for an equaliser, which came in the fortieth minute. A long range shot from the Enfield striker saw Daisy parry the ball away from goal, only to find that a struck the post and rebound off her foot and into the net, thus leaving the first half ended with Spurs leading by 2-1. 

From the second half kick-off, Renata intercepted the ball from the Enfield defence.  Some good passing between her, Ayse and Rosie Kmita, set up the chance for Siobhan Jones, who obliged by netting the ball inside the six-yard box to make Tottenham's lead 3-0. 

A minute later Renata almost put Spurs further ahead from a corner kick delivered Siobhan.  Within the next sixty seconds, Ayse received the ball from Siobhan from a throw-in by Rosie – a one touch pass found the feet of Renata who did not need a second invitation as she tucked the ball into the corner of the Enfield net for her third and Spurs fourth goal. 

Enfield tried desperately to penetrate the Spurs defence, but their efforts were in vain as Georgie Richings, Molly Kmita, Harley Keenlyside and Rosie took charge.  Spurs started to dominate the midfield with Ayse and Charlotte, which gave Whitney Tango and Nikki Hunnable a few chances of extending the Spurs goal tally.  With 55 minutes on the clock, Enfield was awarded a free kick about 25 yards from goal.  A well struck ball from the Enfield striker was heading for goal, but was intercepted and headed away by Molly in front of the Spurs goal. 

Spurs upped the pressure on Enfield with some great deliveries from Siobhan down the wing.  It was in the 60^th minute that one of those crosses found Renata, who turned the Enfield defender, only to see her shot just wide of the post.  

Some good passes mounted an attack to which Enfield conceded a throw-in 69 minutes into the match.  Siobhan delivered a searching ball into the penalty area.  The Enfield clearance only got as far as Renata in the six yard box who drilled the ball into the Enfield net for a Spurs lead of 5-1. 

The ball was won again in midfield by Charlotte, who accurately found Siobhan on the right wing.  Another good delivery from Siobhan invited Phoebe to give Spurs a bigger goal cushion – she obliged with the perfect volley into the Enfield net in the 70^th minute.  Four minutes later, another cross from Siobhan was met by Whitney, but her shot went wide of the post.

In the 75^th minute, a quick throw-in from Harley to Whitney was passed pass to Renata.  She flick the ball over her and the Enfield player heads and struck the ball on the half-volley into the corner of the Enfield net from 25 yards for her fifth goal and Spurs seventh goal of the game.

A half time pep talk from Manager and Coach really spurred on the Tottenham players, who dominated the second half of this local derby.
