Both Spurs and
Palace started the game with great energy, but it was Spurs who took
an early lead when Stephanie Smith played a neat one-two before
sending Chloe Gunn racing into space and firing a confident shot
across the keeper found the net.
This was soon followed
by number two when Andrea Edobor chased a ball played in behind the
defence and struck a sweet shot across into the bottom right.
Palace pulled one back from a free kick just before the break after
a foul by debutant Beth Brown-Hunter-Scott.
The second half proved a
tiring one for the players with many lacking match fitness and
sharpness. A combination of this plus player rotation proved costly
with Palace recovering effectively to equalise and eventually take
the lead.
Spurs eventually
equalised when space opened up for Chloe Gunn to take advantage with
a strike beyond the keeper.
There were many
positives to take from the game, with many players playing in
'alien' positions. Zoë Jackson proved a real threat down the
right flank and Jodie Fenn did well to provide the link between
midfield and the front line. Lindsey Cockle did particularly
well in her defensive role and this will ultimately add to her game.
In the second half, Paige Barnard operated in a midfield role that
she looked comfortable in and Andrea Edobor did an excellent job at
left back to see out a very good game for her.

A warm-up match for the new
season saw Spurs Under-15 Whites take on their Under-14 counterparts and
the game saw some useful positional changes, but ended in a 2-2 draw
with Andrea Edobor and Jodie Fenn scoring the goals for the Under-15s. |

There were many positives to
take from this performance and I feel that we are beginning to get back
on the right path.
It was good to see Nicola Davey back, after so much time out through
injury and she gave a good solid performance between the sticks in the
first half. Paige Barnard was deployed to midfield and her
experience gave stability and balance to the midfield and Spurs played
some decent football in patches.
Beth Brown Hunter Scott and Jodie Fenn put in a lot of effort up front
and did reasonably well keeping the Harvesters defence on their toes and
they were eventually replaced by Tarn Harris and Lindsey Cockle, with
the former using her body strength well and the latter exploiting the
space. Lindsey showed her range of skills to cause concern at the
heart of the Harvesters defence and soon got her reward when she
cleverly met the ball and instantly passed it into the net.
Andrea had a goal disallowed for offside that appeared to be a poor
decision by the referee, but things evened up when Harvesters should
have had a penalty for a foul within the Spurs area.
Special praise to Rhiannon Kelly, who caused lots of problems for
Harvesters with her strength and pace and was the provider on numerous
occasions, many of which should have been converted. Spurs were
left cursing those missed chances when they conceded five minutes before
the end of the game, when a deflected shot rolled agonizingly across
Sian Osmond and into the corner of the net.

Cambridge City Under 15s
continue to provide quality opposition for us, the games between us
always seem to be tense and exciting and this was no exception.
Injuries forced Spurs to
make changes and both Leasha Ngotho and Tessa Osborne performed
admirably and professionally as centre halves in the second half, where
we played with no recognised central defenders. This was a good test for
them and they both had to work hard to try to curb a second half
onslaught by the home side.
Spurs started the
game well with Rhiannon Kelly
in particular in splendid form, scoring well from outside the area with
a lob and setting up the second with a cute through ball to
Leasha who beat the keeper with a drive from an angle.
With Spurs enjoying a
period of domination they were unfortunate to concede five minutes
before half time when the referee made a controversial decision and
awarded a penalty for an apparent push. Sian Osmond made a great effort
to save, but the penalty was struck well and Spurs went into the break
2-1 up.
With Zoë Jackson injured,
Spurs reshuffled, but it was Cambridge who dominated the second half and
took their chances and eventually the match.

Luton started this HCGFL
match brightly and with the wind behind them Spurs were encamped in
their own half for long periods conceding once when a shot from the
right was driven across keeper Sian Osmond. Earlier Sian had done
well to hold a fierce shot low in the six yard area.
Spurs drew level before the
break when Tarn Harris responded quickly after the Luton keeper failed
to hold the ball and despatched the ball into the net.
In the second half the
home team were forced to make changes through injuries but immediately
responded when Andrea Edobor caught the keeper out with an audacious lob
from 35 yards to give Spurs the lead.
However Luton responded
well and Spurs had a poor five minute spell when they conceded two cheap
goals to give the away team the victory.

This Under-15 Whites match
produced patches of good football from the home team, but they were
aided by a Hampstead team team that was one player short of a starting
eleven. It helped Spurs get back to winning ways after two
unfortunate defeats.
Hampstead defended well from
the start and it took Spurs a while to break them down, with the goal
eventually coming late in the first half. It was an unfortunate
one with the Hampstead keeper letting a weak shot from Beth Hunter Brown
Scott slip through her legs to allow the Tottenham striker to claim her
first for the season.
After the break Spurs
added a second when Andrea Edobor rounded off a period of dominance with
a fierce drive from eight yards that stretched the net to it's full
capacity.
Spurs settled and put
together some decent build up play from the back, mixed with some long
ball from the keeper, as they dominated the final stages.
Beth added her second
when she struck from close range with her right foot and then
immediately responded to the goalkeeper save by striking with her left
to send Spurs three up.
Leasha Ngotho rounded off
a good performance by firing home from close range after a good delivery
from Andrea to seal a 4-0 victory for Spurs.

A really early kick off saw
the two teams, with the Blues playing in white and the Whites playing in
blue, ending with a 6-1 win to the A squad in this HCGFL meeting at the
White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre.
Both teams started brightly,
but the Whites soon got into their stride and went into an early two-nil
lead when Lindsey Cockle lifted the ball over the keeper to score the
first, then Chloe Gunn hit a sublime lob over the advancing keeper for
number two.
The Blues best chance of
the half came from a free kick by Eleanda Taldianou, but Sian Osmond
stood firm and collected at arms length when the ball looked destined
for the net.
The Whites made it three
when Rhiannon broke on the right and shot at the keeper, who spilled the
ball to Lindsey, who collected her second.
Soon after the break
Chloe added her second when she and three others beat a flat back four
and raced clear with just the keeper to beat and she promptly despatched
the ball into the net. Lindsey claimed her hat-trick when Rhiannon
Kelly's shot was parried into her path and she made no mistake from
close range.
Rhiannon got a well
deserved goal by breaking on the right and lofting the keeper and almost
had a second when her shot from the same angle hit the post and keeper
collected.
The Blues claimed a goal
courtesy of an Eleanda penalty late on, although the tackle by Lucky Di
Biasio looked to be timed to perfection and she should be praised for
that.
For the Whites special
praise goes to Zoë Jackson, as she attempted to put the defensive
blueprint into play, and for the Blues special praise to their stand in
keeper who made several good saves to keep the deficit down.

A good controlled
performance on a bitterly cold afternoon saw Spurs enjoy long periods of
possession that eventually earned them a 5-1 win.
Goals came courtesy of

A good win under our
belts, but even more pleasing was the style in which we played, which

Injuries have certainly
hindered the Under-15 Whites this season, but it is reassuring that in
this squad we have strength in depth and players are making the most of
opportunities to impress.
Last week we played, in
my opinion, our best football in my time as manager and we continued it
this week in the first half against a strong Hitchin team. The
team went 1-0 up before the interval and playing into the sun in the
second half scored two late goals to seal a victory.
Two of our goals were
created by slick passing moves that ended with positive strikes from our
in-form striker Beth Brown Hunter Scott and sandwiched between was a
scrambled goal from Chloe Gunn.
Worthy of a big mention is
Sian Osmond who pulled off three fantastic saves, one of which was
worthy of headline status.

A depleted Enfield team came
out of the traps early and aided by a strong wind put the Spurs Ladies
Under-15 Whites defence under immediate pressure. Spurs took a little
time to adjust to the conditions but gradually they started to make
their number advantage count, scoring three first half goals, before
some slack defending allowed Enfield to pull one back.
The second half was a little
disappointing, with Spurs failing to get any early rhythm going and
Enfield defending well as a team. Aimee Rose was a second half
substitute and made a difference to the midfield with Spurs enjoying
their best spell of possession in the game.
The goals were scored by
Rhiannon Kelly (2) Chloe Gunn (2) Beth Brown Hunter Scott (2) and Tarn
Harris (1).

Spurs Under-15 Whites faced
Long Lane in the quarter final of the London FA Youth Cup without either
of their recognised goalkeepers and a number of other players

end, the girls put in an excellent effort and were extremely
unlucky not to progress into the next round, losing out to the only goal
