Spurs Under-16s Blues were seen off by Hampstead in the HCGFL at
Fred Knights in a stormy encounter.
Both teams played great
passing fluent football in the first half, with Spurs just
shading the possession, but with no end result. Just as Spurs
were mounting even more pressure Hampstead got a lucky break and
with a Spurs lack of concentration, it let Hampstead in and went 1-0
up and the visitors went into the break in the lead.
In the second half Hampstead became frustrated with the
fluent and confident way Spurs were playing. Then a few challenges came
in that seemed to alter the game. Hampstead went 0-2 up not
long into the second half, then after a few confrontations on the
pitch Spurs lost focus on what started out as a great game of
football. Two further goals for Hampstead put the score at
0-4, but after another major incident on the pitch, two Hampstead
players were sent off and a Spurs player cautioned. The game
then petered out and with another late goal for Hampstead, the game
ended 0-5.
